Hasu makes controllers for the hhkb which allow you to reprogam the board. His recent model, which there is a waiting list to receive one, adds bluetooth capability.

Today I received a single 1.75x DSA blank in orange.  Not worthy of a pic but my JD40 is finally complete so I'm happy :D

Interesting! Is this board full aluminum or acrylic bottom? Looks a little bit like that, as far as i can recognize anything on the pictures.

I'm waiting for daylight to take a decent pic, but if you cross this night shot I took when the switches finally arrived a couple of days ago with the mock-up in my signature you get a pretty good idea except the colours are off.  Not sure if I like the orange homing keys so they may disappear...

Shoutouts to nubbinator for this find. IBM Convertible PC 5140.



With these really odd switches:




The SKCM Brown Alps feel more tactile than the SKCM Orange Alps that I have. Almost like MX Clears. They're wonderful; I wish I had more so I could swap *all* the switches on my Geekhack Spacesaver Minitouch. And the weird half switches feel exactly like the SKCL Green Alps that I love so much.

I was hoping to get the 5140 working but I'm not sure it's in the right condition to fix up. I'll have to ponder what to do with it...


Glad people got their stuickers safely. I've got more if anyone is interested :).

WHOA! How did you find it and for what price?!?!?!? When I was in major ALPS hype mode, this was my no.1 wanted item... but the ones one ebay were too overpriced, and no one was taking my offers... Those brown ALPS are literally some of the best sounding keyboard switches I've ever heard... Pretty jelly right now...

Hehe,  not need to be jealous. Just go to keycon and you can try them XD.

EBay find. Paid $70 shipped. Not the best price I've seen ($40-50) but not bad considering the weight. Looks like the current 5140s are going for $100+.

Think Brown alps are my new favorite tactile alps switches. I need more for my Zero or Minitouch...

I received my first ever ALPS board through the mail today. Man I must have some wimpy fingers because these white alps are already exhausting my finger tips.

So today was a pretty good mail day...



Some caps from a special someone, including a sweet boost cap :D
An updated entry of the game that was a pretty big part of my early childhood, the hoyle pc series.
A faster charger and an electronics cleaning brush.
A new shirt, and the best of them all: a Protest the Hero sweater :cool:
