Bunny/Cody, I have two down arrows, and no right arrow. Unless I'm an idiot which is entirely plausible.

Edit: ignore this, turns out I AM an idiot.

Row four and two have the same tilt but upside down. Could your second down arrow actually be the extra up arrow that is included in row 2?  I'm not sure about your right arrow.

Thanks for the tip. But actually, all the arrows are R4, so it's not as confusing as it could be.

I thought it was included in case you prefer an R2 up arrow.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I was referring to:

A few more shots

Board is a Ducky G2 Pro.

Sorry for the shallow DOF, not much light in here. I'll try to set up some lighting and get some good shots later.

Looks awesome! I can't wait to see mine. They're at home, but I'm away until tomorrow.

Ah! Maybe that IS where my extra R4 down came from. In that case, maybe I just overlooked the right arrow. I'm using PETSCII, so my bag from the base set still has a lot of keys left. I'll double-check when I get home.

Me too. Like, seriously regretting.

Not sure if we've seen a full-size board with burgundy mods yet. Potato will have to do.

Ok, guys, just finished my photo session with my lovely new SA Retro set. :D

Here is SA Retro + PETSCII + Numpad on a Ducky DK9008G2Pro:

Top View

Closeup of the alpha cluster

Artsy angled shot

Mmm, look at those arrows

Front view. PETSCII!

Another angle

And here's SA Retro + Dvorak on a white Pok3r:

And some anomalies:

I've got some minor issues with a few keys, namely R1 profile:

The top of the Plus:

The bottom of the 8:

And finally, a color/legend comparison with 1976:

Edit: really sorry for slowing down everyone's browser by embedding a dozen 24 MP images! I've changed the links to point to the "large thumbnails" instead.

This is glorious!

<is it just me, or does the stepped "SHIFT LOCK" key have the wrong line thickness on the font?>

So this is actually using smaller legends than most SA sets? Looks like a similar size to the standard DSA legends. It does seem to exaggerate the vertical displacement of the G a little / make it more obvious, which makes sense. I wouldn't have noticed it (and in fact didn't) on the usual sized font.

That angled shot looks awesome! It does, however, highlight the Row 3 Shifts, but fear not... "steps are being taken".
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

That angled shot looks awesome! It does, however, highlight the Row 3 Shifts, but fear not... "steps are being taken".

The angle makes it look a bit more extreme than it actually is, but the SHIFT LOCK text is slightly larger and more bold than the other modifiers. The kerning on LOCK isn't the same as the SHIFT either, so I guess it could bother someone who is looking really hard...but probably no more annoying than the main "SHIF T" keys we currently have on SA sets.

As for smaller legends, I compared my Round 5 caps to SA Retro. It looks like all of the text on Retro's alpha keys are slightly smaller than Round 5's. The modifier text (including the num row and character mods) are the same size between the two, though Retro's num row text looks slightly more bold than Round 5's.

And well, the Row 3 shifts...I guess I'll stick with head-on frontal photos of the board for now.  :p

Gorgeous Pr0n  8) .

Who would think that plain Retro could even make any small keyboard so sexy to lust after ...... you're keyboard is doing nasty things, to my sense of reasoning.

I guess it's time to bring up the quality issue of "swirling." Not sure if it's related to the ran-out-of-brown-pellets situation or not, but a lot of my keys look like the color was distributed unevenly, like there's a swirl of unevenly-mixed shades. Almost all of the keys in this photo exhibit it:

It's really only noticeable in certain lighting, I'm imagining it's not just my set though.

I've noticed the swirling on all SP caps. I have it on my Nuclear set, on the '76 set, and now this set. It's minor, and kinda pretty IMO.

The pearlescence is especially evident on larger caps. It reminds me of shampoo.

I'm guessing either the plastic is partially crystalline, or the pigment particles are consistently morphic, and that the flow causes particles to allign.

It's really only noticeable in certain lighting, I'm imagining it's not just my set though.

From my experience it seems to be largely a surface effect. Once the top layer is worn smooth it's not noticable any more. At least my Hack'd by Geeks caps are like that, hopefully these will show the same behaviour.

Mine came in yesterday. All the ones I've checked look great with the exception of the 2u Colemak backspace. Did SP make that wrong or did the wrong size get ordered? A little disappointing, but certainly not a deal-breaker.

That is one sexy board, sir. Good job. Already finished wiring and programming? Let's see the guts of that baby.

BTW, did your standoffs work well? The holes in my old Ortho board are nearly the same diameter of the standoffs, so they want to sink in/tilt.
