People asked me before about capslock is it stepped or unstepped ??

I think we should have it like this

1 x Caps Lock (centered stemmed to be compatible with Ducky/Filco etc) = UNSTEPPED
1 x Caps Lock (with off-center key stem for Cherry keyboards) = STEPPED

Rather than getting 2 sets of keys for both in stepped and unstepped which would add more to the cost.

I hope everybody is ok with this arrangement ??

I'm sorry, but with all those extra keys, I'm out.
The kits have ended up with about 3 times the number of keys I actually want, and clearly that significantly affects the price.

I think this is turning into a nice comprehensive kit.  I agree that keeping the price down would be good, but more keys might mean more buyers, and besides, I doubt a smaller run of keys is likely to be significantly cheaper anyway.

My main worry is that I've suddenly got myself into $100 of key caps.  Sigh.

Wait a second!

Who needs a stepped Caps Lock? If you have a Cherry keyboard, just fit sixty's Caps Lock key on. We don't need the stepped version, because it alread exists!

MOOGLEWHITE will be $1 cheaper.
MOOGLEBLACK will be $1.5 cheaper.

Sorry for that!

What is up with the core kit now? 31 keys? Are you kidding me??

This is driving up the cost ridiculously. I especially think the Ducky function keys are particularly frivolous and wasteful. The only keys I'm going to use are:
2 x alt
2 x control
2 x windows logo keys
1 x spacebar
1 x menu key

That's 8 keys! Wtf!!!

Sounds fine to me, as long as we're not holding up the order for everyone else. So:
2 x alt
2 x control
2 x windows logo keys
1 x spacebar
1 x menu key
1 x right shift

That sound right?

Yes.

I don't mind subsidising an extra one or two keys I might not use, like the right shift and a pair of blanks, but catering for small minorities of Mac and Ducky owners is two steps too far.

Well, I need 2xControl, 2xAlt, Space, Caps Lock, and either two commands or two blanks, and a menu or a blank (but not blank if the commands go... if you get my drift).  If any were to be left out of that list, I'd say it would be best to keep two blanks and a menu key.  The blanks can be used for anything, Command is quite specific.  Menu I can live with.  If the set came with just regular Win keys, I'd not use them, and would keep the plain Filco blank domes in place.

I do understand that this kit has grown a lot, and I too am concerned about the increase in cost, but I don't want a regular Windows set as I've no use for it.

What's the price difference between including certain extra keys in with a full kit, and charging for them separately?  I mean , the whole kit would have to be at least $8 cheaper for it to be then worth paying that for two special caps.  Same goes for the LED windows and Ducky keys.

I thought Right Shift was only in the black kit?

Yarg. I was talking about the black kit, sorry. I'll have to go back through the thread. I don't see any reason why both black and white should have different contents though.

I agree with that - a small compromise for what amounts to not much money for a more generally useful kit.  Particularly specific keys should probably be extra.

Right shift was also added to the beige/white set. First post was updated.

I also assumed that it was going to be 12 or so keys, not 30 ish. Also didn't everyone already vote ? So i assumed that is what the majority voted for :/ which was why it was included.

Anyway round 2 of votes, just pm vote 7bit whether you want the ducky kit dropped from the core kit or not.

We are going with what most people want :p so no bickering please, or creating drama in thread.

@nathanscribe

Like 7bit said, we can't have too many little separate orders. the core kit with 31 keys is already a small order.

Well clearly there has been some frustration expressed about the contents of this kit, which I think is justified given how much it has changed.

I would've thought lots of orders for a 10 key kit would've been better than a handful for a 31 key kit.

Hence why you should vote by pming 7bit.

7bit is only offering what is voted on, not the drama in the thread :p

If you want a solution, pm 7bit if you want ducky keys included (he will tally again who wants it or not, then go with majority vote), if not then tell him so. Nothings going to get done by arguing about it here.

Hei if you see my previous posts i thought this was 12 keys. 7bit later said 31 which also caught me by surprise.

If you kept track of thread, i made suggestions and let people vote on kit. The result of it is by public vote based on the choices available :/

So please don't put the blame on me if you don't like what comes out being voted for :p

Core kit:

Quote:
2 x alt
2 x control
2 x windows logo keys
1 x spacebar
1 x menu key
1 x Caps Lock (centered stemmed to be compatible with Ducky/Filco etc) UNSTEPPED
1 x Caps Lock (with off-center key stem for Cherry keyboards) UNSTEPPED
2 x blank 1.25'' keys (windows logo key alternative)
1 x Right shift (compatibility for some sets that came from 1800 series keyboards)
2 x Command (basically for apple MAC fans)
Function keys: Calc, PC, Mail, Home and F1 to F12 partially with media symbols as on the Ducky keyboard.

31 keys in total.

REVISED Core kit:

Quote:

2 x windows logo keys
1 x spacebar

1 x Caps Lock (with off-center key stem for Cherry keyboards) UNSTEPPED
2 x blank 1.25'' keys (windows logo key alternative)
1 x Right shift (compatibility for some sets that came from 1800 series keyboards)
2 x Command (basically for apple MAC fans)

15 keys in total.

@keyboardlover

Feel free to ask 7bit directly if you want. But the core kit is strictly going to have to be REVISED Core kit since the majority needs these keys even if 3-4 you don't.

So vote what you want :/

Sorry for not responding earlier, I was in the cinema.

I thought that that these function keys where necessary, so I included them. If the majority does not want the, I throw them out. Same for the 2 Command keys. This is not my kit after all, it is Moogle's.

I've put every key mentioned here into that kit. If you can decide about a shorter list of keys, I will update the list and the prices will be lower.

I can offer the 7 bottom row modifier keys, a space bar, a right Shift and a Caps Lock key @ $22/10, $16/15,  $14/20, or  $12/25 .

I did not dismiss anything. All i'm saying it's more productive to vote for what you want, instead of riot. At least when you vote then we know what the majority want, and not just a few vocal voices only.

I thought he meant another set of keys but in unstepped which were cancelled.

I'll check again with 7bit.

Yet still you dismiss the discussion we were having as a 'riot'?!!!

And, last I looked, it was an ever growing number of dissenting voices against the Fn keys, with no supporters at all. More than 'just a few'.

7bit doesn't seem to want our votes on this... it sounds like he'd rather you took responsibility for the contents of the kits that bear your name. Which seems perfectly reasonable to me, since he's already extremely busy doing a very fine job managing all the kits for round 3.

I think those 10 keys are good. I say we just stick with those 10 and call it a day.

Or, if you don't want the kit as it is, just send zero votes to 7bit_vote, which will save him some time:
MOOGLEBLACK 0
MOOGLEWHITE 0

The way i see it, i saw some feedback people don't want the fn row so i was like ok fine, then lets do a 2nd round of votes to remove it then. But from your posts sounds like your keep on egging people on to drop the whole project entirely out of a tantrum rather then vote the changes required as part of the solution. Hence why i said vote, and not continue to riot in the thread :}

Ok just confirmed with 7bit,

This is the official corekit

Quote
2 x alt
2 x control
2 x windows logo keys
1 x spacebar
1 x menu key
1 x Caps Lock (centered stemmed to be compatible with Ducky/Filco etc) UNSTEPPED
2 x blank 1.25'' keys (windows logo key alternative)
1 x Right shift (compatibility for some sets that came from 1800 series keyboards)

@ $22/10, $16/15, $14/20, or $12/25 .

The following below were dropped
- clarified that the other capslock was dropped, seeing as Sixty's doubleshot will already have a compatible Cherry keyboard capslock.
- Command keys have been dropped since only 1 person wanted it, and their ok with just blanks. Getting both blanks and command key is kinda a bit much.
- Function row keys were dropped (F1-F12 + 4 media keys)

OK, here are the prices for the version with the additional 2 blanks:

$24/10
$18/15
$15/20
$13/25

Before another riot starts: The right-hand shift is 2.3x expansive than the 2 blanks and also not necessary for everybody. Leaving it out, we would have $20/10 and $11/25.

Personally i don't need the right hand shift since mine works. The only reason i agreed to it is because, some may need it especially if their keys come from 1800 series keyboards.

So you guys vote if you want it or not :x

Not sure how many obtained sixties set. I was one of the few who didn't and would need the right-hand shift.
