LOL! JK!

That is awesome, mang. Great battlestation, and great audio set up <3 Jelly to the max.

Hahahaha yeah it was a lot of work getting this video. There were more than a couple bad takes due to knocking over a danbo, police sirens, card corruption , LED flickering, etc... BUT THEN I FINALLY GOT IT!

Thank you vesper :]

I guess forum youtube previews aren't working right now. :o

YouTube preview probably works if you remove the "s" from "https" to make it just "http".

Clears - perfect switch in the iceboard.  Fantastic!

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. Couldn't get a good camera and only had a recording device so no videos

Here they are:
62g Lubed Ergo Clears on a Poker 2 with IMSTO Plate

Vintage Blacks with MX red springs on a Poker 2 with the_beast plate

edit: Please read the track info for more info and what I am doing at a particular time because there's no video. These two tracks may sound the same but that's how they kind of sound in real life.

Thanks.  Ofc I watched it again but I've seen this before.  Maybe its the best I'll hear but since it's only a few seconds of typing, I was hoping that someone who had converted one had, or could make a video or sound capture.

I'd really like some longer ones because I actually find them nice to listen to while working. The only longer recording I've found was someone typing on an older (still cherry) Razer Blackwidow on youtube.

Lastpilot's video is beautiful, gives the impression of playing musical instruments.

Dood, thank you so much for this video! I was so very curious to hear what the QMX would sound with 55g linears!

Do they change the feel at all? Reduced key travel?

It was recorded with my webcam, sorry lol. When I bottom out it feels a lot firmer - in a good way, but it doesn't reduce key travel. I think it's because these have a hole for the keycap stem unlike o-rings which attach onto the stem. Now it's pretty much as quiet as my Type-S which surprised me  :)

I really really like the sound that the QMX clips give to the switches. I know someone who plans on throwing some of these into their custom build, so it's nice to hear what a full board of these sounds like. :)

Just for the sake of indexing my typing videos along with the rest, here are some I made with my Hammer Eagle Alps board and my FAME w/ blue Alps. The Hammer is really quiet with its CF plate and sorbothane dampening beneath the PCB. The FAME has a plastic top case and a metal bottom, so it has a pretty unique sound. I like it!

i recorded these like 18 months ago. the point wasn't to record the sound but to examine how i type, i do touch type but i appear to only use two fingers on my right hand, it got me upset. I am also a jack-hammer when i type, which why all my rubber dome keyboards died so quickly.

(these are flickr video so you have to click on the picture/link to see them)

Keeping this thread alive. It may be strange, but I love listening to keyboard audio; sometimes just to relax while heading home from work.

Here are a few short clips of my Pok3r while doing some tests with sound dampening in the case. Bonus points if you can guess the switch type without reading ahead.

My DC-3014 w/ blue Alps. My favorite vintage to use at the moment. My FAME is out of commission thanks to the *****in' (amazing) Hebrew doubleshots on them that I don't want to shine, so no more awesome metal backed board until I get my Focus FK-555.

PBT caps from Dell AT-101

I feel like the color fits this board, which is a naturally warm color.

You can really hear the kind of ping that blue Alps have in this video. I dislike Alps ping quite a bit. So much so that I lubed every spring in my Hammer Alps board individually just to kill the ping. Green and Blues have it the worst!

Made a little typing video of my end game and all-time favorite vintage Alps board, my FAME keyboard with complicated blue Alps and Hebrew doubleshots. I will likely never type on this beauty again for fear of shining the caps.

Also ANSI-modded and painted the plate an iridescent blue while the bottom panel is painted with a colorshift paint and 2K urethane clear. :D

I love how it sounds with those caps. It's got a different sound signature to it compared to the modern Tai Hao caps I had on the board before this as well as the stock key caps it came with.

Thanks again for this, Bromono. I very much appreciate the key caps I got off of you!

Here's a sound comparison for vintage MX whites, vintage whites in Zealio housings, and then modern MX green done on a bent case Infinity w/ PBT caps. That board makes a fantastic switch tester, haha.

Just made one for my Orion v2 and Lightpad with complicated blue Alps, as those from 2013 would call them:

Actually, people used to call them all sorts of things before SKCM and SKCL were decided on. I forget what those were though. Alps CM or Alps Bigfoot switches? Oh, the dark ages of Alps were a strange time.

This is probably the only time that I can say that the ping sounds amazing. I'm tempted to do this with whites and greens myself now, haha! I think it's because it's so musical sounding. It's not just terrible noise. :D
