I really hope Matias' PBT keycap tooling will give us the gift of decent keycaps for these switches in the near future. I love travelling with my V60 with Matias Quiet Click switches but ABS keycaps just feel so awful and slimy to me now.

At home I'll still be sticking with my Model F; I can finally understand how people neglect their Model M keyboards after trying one of these boards. Capacitive Buckling Springs really make a huge difference over the membrane ones.

At the moment I'm using a Steelseries 6Gv2 which I got cheap from a friend. Not really liking the black switches and size of the keyboard so about to pull the trigger on a Poker II with blues  :)

Just connected one of my Corsair MX Red, K65, keyboards; had been using a 55-gram 87UW.
Damn, the Corsair feels good and makes for a complementary transition coming from the Topre KB.

I'm currently communicating with the Tao Hao factory to see if A) KBP has contacted them to begin an order or B) If they have a V60MTS on hand to verify they can reproduce this set.

I should know more soon about compatibility / pricing.

I've had to swap out my KC108 with Blacks for my KC87 with Kailh Browns.

I just can't stand linear switches anymore :(
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Yes :)  I would love to get one of their Olivetti sets for my V60 MTS.

Tao Hao has not been contacted yet by KBP for Alps keycap purchases.  So now I'm contacting KBP to see if they will do us a solid and either ship a keycap set or better - a defective/sample keyboard  to Tao Hao to verify they can reproduce everything; at that point we can talk numbers.

Ok, Someone from TaoHao is going to meet up with KBP and acquire a V60MTS sample for testing.

That's the last I'll speak of this in this thread - anything further will be in the Matias forum.

I'm taking a break from my RF87U 55g... I fear it might be causing joint/finger/hand/wrist pain, which would be really disappointing as I really like the keyboard. I might have to swap it for a 45g Topre board.

In the meantime, I'm using MX Red and Brown QFR and Das Keyboard 3. I haven't really bothered with my other boards since getting my RF -- it feels so smooth by comparison.

i'm gonna be selling the RF 55g uniform and likely get a second leopold for work.

My JD40 White MX switches and Red O-rings. Learning curve is something else when I keep changing the layout, but I know that once I nail what I want, I will love this thing forever! I call it Tantō for the small Japanese short sword. BC this thing is seriously compact and has deadly sharp stainless steel edges...

Neither. DCS and SA are made by SP and they currently don't make Topre caps.

Id say they are closer to DCS but still not DCS. Closer match would be Cherry profile but that's still not the same.

They're Topre OEM if this is an accurate way to put it and the only boards that have this exact profile are Topre boards.

Oh ok. I thought that DCS, SA etc. were standard profiles that all manufacturers use. I didn't know that they each have their own profile. Thanks for the info.

If you're looking for a similar set for Cherry MX, you could look into BSP Classic Beige (blanks would be the Otaku version).

Unfortunately the only readily available source is Originative (a vendor that many here have had issues with) but my order shipped out the day after I placed my order through his website (I can't wait to receive them!)

My Poker II, until I get my Viper back from Dorkvader.
If today had been a hippo, then you'd really have to worry about tomorrow.

That is a great looking setup, planning on getting a poker II with similar key caps myself.

I have to say that I'm pretty happy so far with this Chicony 5181. After reprogramming the \ key to act as a second backspace, the layout is more or less bearable. The keycaps are just plain awful though, they're glossy to the point of having essentially no texture at all, but the actual key switches are wonderful. They almost make up for the keycaps. Almost. If I could just replace these keycaps with something textured and PBT (not sure what the fuss is about doubleshots, they're still just boring ABS) I would love this board.

My Corsair K70. I love it! It just feels like a really solid keyboard and the Cherry Reds feel great to type on (I know, I know, they're for gaming... I do that too  ;D)
If there was one thing I could change on it, it would be for it to have more media/function keys. Maybe I'll upgrade to the K95 and program all the macro keys someday.
