I got the "e29 coincidence" keyboard back from Phosphorglow today, put the original keycaps back on it, and put the keycaps for the 1394204 back in place where they belong. (There is a little story to this.)
Turns out the "e29 coincidence" had an LED cutout below the label! It is kinda hard to see with the camera flash on....
So here it is with it off.
This keyboard actually feels wonderful. It was pretty dreadful before. I'm so glad Maxx fixed this!
The little story goes as follows:
My nephew had an incident with his keyboard and I let him use the 1394204 keyboard with his 1391401 controller in it's place, I put the APL keys on it because I didn't want him confused by the terminal caps. So I sent the "e29 coincidence" keyboard with the 4204 keys on it. The original keys for the "e29 coincidence" I put in the box for the APL set.
Everything falls back where it belongs now.
So my nephew has his 1391401 back with a new SDL controller in it. The "e29 coincidence" keyboard has it's original keyset back on it, and a new SDL controller. And finally, the 1394204 has it's original keys back on it too.
The APL keys are matched perfectly after ordering 3 "end" keys from Unicomp. There was one that lined up so now that keyset is complete and not out of place. I'm boxing it. It may be used for something in the future.
I guess I will keep this on my desk for a while. It's pretty cool with the LED thing.
