I am waiting for my Keyboardio M01, my first mechanical keyboard (not counting some old ones I used on my dad's computer back in the days). For the time being, in preparation for a split keyboard, I am using a TypeMatrix 2030, and the laptop's (Lenovo W541) keyboard in a kind-of split setup: one hand types on the left half of the laptop, the other on the right side of the TypeMatrix.

I get weird looks, but it is reasonably comfortable. And funny too, to boot.

Just bought an Armaggeddon Hornet MKA-5R RGB keyboard, yes, I know it has Kailh Blue but it looks great, I like the aluminum top plate, and Kailh Blue feels and sounds quite similar to Cherry Blue. Since this is my new toy, you can be sure I'd be using it for a while....

Just an FYI, but it's more comfortable when there are keycaps on top of the stems  ;)

Alps FTW!

Yeah man, I think you could easily something to give the case some incline. Looks really nice though. The yellowed space bar actually matches the color of the wood very nicely, ironic as that might be.

Yeah, I've been retrobrighting the darn thing since yesterday. The caps are all I need now, but they take forever.

I think I can see myself in your spacebar

It was right under a magnifying lamp, but yes it's very shiny.

Someone on DT is experimenting with light sandblasting to remove shine, with all my AEK spacebars I'll have to look into it!

This is an idea I've had for a long time; I just don't have the cash for a compressor with all this money going toward keyboards and what not. :P

Wet sanding with a fine grit sandpaper or polishing cloth (micron) can remove shine, but I think sandblasting is the only real way to restore texture. Matte clear coat can do this too, but there's a lot of reasons why that's unfavorable.

I recently liberated 5 mid-late '90s (I'm guessing) rubber dome KBs from someone whom was giving them away: 3 Compaq KB-3923s, Micro Innovations Turbo-Trak, and a Mitsumi KFKEA4XT, all in various states of dishevelment. They all work perfectly but given their physical appearance and soldering iron scars they look as though they were used in a component factory or something. I think I'll hold on to the Mitsumi and Micro. Next to the Dell Quiet Keys Mitsumi are the best-feeling dome kb. The Micro has unusual function keys and "Power", "Sleep", and "Wake" keys that don't seem to register with any of my computers.

I got an 8 gallon compressor from Home Depot for $25 when they had a crazy promo going on.  Normally $300 marked to $$150.  Then 50% off clearance for $75.  They gave me $50 for signing up for a credit card I never used (not even for the compressor).  I've had it for a long time.

Lucky!

I am typing this on the Rapoo V500S with backlighting and blue switches (that's the official product name) right now.

I'm hesitant to call these switches "Cherry MX Blue clones" because their feel isn't altogether similar to the Cherry MX switches, and the spacebar feels a little wonky.  I'll give this keyboard a 75/100... my Model F AT received a 95 on that scale.

I've been enjoying my MX Clear Pok3r for quite some time.  I much prefer clears over the browns that my ES-87 has, since I've been trying to practice not bottoming out.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I use Deck 87 Francium Pro, White Backlight, Cherry MX Brown Switches.
I bought before one month from mechanicalkeyboards.
Deck Hassium Pro and Francium Pro keyboards now arrive with rubber and on feets.
I saw different version of Deck keyboards with different fonts...
I ask specific version as on Deck site and on mechanicalkeyboard site...
Someone don't like that fonts but I like them very much, I insist on them...

Newer feets on back side with rubber...

Ducky One (MX Red, Blue LEDs).

Solid action, no wobble (unlike the last MX keyboard I had....).

Status LEDs are Too Damm BRIGHT!

Also sane USB implementation, both HID mode and BIOS compatible HID mode work correctly.

An IBM Model M, proudly made in the USA, with a born on date of September 3rd, 1987. I would have just been starting my junior year at college when this bad boy rolled off the assembly line.

The one true keyboard. The keyboard of power. With twelve function keys to rule them all.

She still clicks like she's brand new, and she's heavy enough to use as a blunt force weapon when the Zombie Apocalypse strikes. And seriously, who amongst us isn't secretly looking forward to the Zombie Apocalypse?

I thought not.  ;D

Swapped my old Noppoo Tank back in for my desktop today. Needs periodic thorough cleanings or it starts to chatter, but with that dealt with for the time being, it's still going strong. Lives up to its name, in fact: it is very rare for input devices to survive this long in my possession, especially ones that I actually use. Of course, the keycaps are a shiny mess at this point...may or may not decide to do something about that. We'll see.

If you want to use a real BS keyboard, get a Model F. Capacitive BS is so far superior than BS over membrane.
