Been using a filco with g.blacks to try out SA. I see the appeal of the sculpt, but only because of the smoothness. I'll keep this on my desk another week or so to give it a solid go around.

you'll get over it.
Over the profile, or the smoothness?

profile.  everytime I switch to SA, it feels super tall, and I can't use it
It's definitely tall. I had to adjust my chair height to use them comfortably at first, and now o can hardly tell a difference. I can see the appeal for sure though.

Just got a Wyse WY60 to work with Soarer's Converter. Vintage blacks and doubleshots, these old Wyse keyboards are really nice and solid. I need to take it apart and clean it again, though, it smells of old ashtray and spoiled yogurt.

(Attachment Link)

It's amazing how solid the older keyboards are.  Thicker plate, I wonder?  Great feeling to type on whether the switches are vintage or not.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

They aren't bad. I will say they are much better than new blacks. It has the stock springs in it, I think they would be a little better with another weight just not sure which.

agreed.  Springs usually don't all feel consistent in gaterons.  I'll be building a leeku 1800 with 55g GON springs and gateron blacks soon I think.  That should be a sweet board :thumb:

They by no means stand up next to v.blacks, but i would use them if I wanted linear and couldn't find vintage.

the vintage blacks on kmac are kinda growing on me.................... just kinda though.

whaaat? Sifo likes linear switches????

kinda gross i know but theoretically you can type faster on them.

also i was playing a lot of counterstrike so it was nice to have them for that. gonna rotate clears back in soon though lol

nah dude, blacks are my favourite mx switch. you just always talk about how much you hate them.
Oh he was talking about a different type of blacks.

Nubbinator brought down his HHKB pro 2 for me to use for a little bit (trying to convert me).  I have used it for a day so far, and other than having to get used to the layout a bit, it is quite nice.  I am still not a fan of pbt for caps, much prefer the slightly tacky feel of worn in abs, but still quite nice.  I do really like the sound once you get in a groove on whatever you are typing.
135943-0

He also brought me a couple of his new caps.  They are intentionally blurry in this photo until I can get better shots and show them in the detail they deserve.
wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2

I wish :p Honestly I would rather have the original Rapid. No led nonsense and Costar reliablilty would be better than the Rapid-i I'm sure. But you get what you pay for and I got a rather sweet deal ($35 and free shipping).

Like those blue legends. Haven't seen those before on a WYSE.

they are actually all blue like that.  Usually it's hard to tell since most are so yellowed.  At least my WY-30's are like that.

Yep, I was pleasantly surprised that the blue came out in the photo, which did so inspired me to post. There's quite a bit of shine on the keys, but not a lot of yellowing, which is amazing. I bought it off eBay about two months ago, went back to find the seller for another one, but they're gone. They had '10+' available. The 'O' key switch didn't work, the yogurt spill presumably, so I swapped it with the scroll lock switch. Nyuck, nyuck.

Been using this VA68M with Gateron Browns for about a week now and I'm in love. The clacks it makes when I type and the whole feel of the board is just fantastic. I don't regret this purchase one bit.
And after some keyboard creation tweaks I can type danish letters on an ANSI board now. American boards are so much better for typing in a terminal than european ones imo. Took me about a day to get used to the button layout and I would say I'm still struggling with some things, like hitting ENTER accidentally. I do that often atm and I never used to do that before.
I quite enjoy the stiffness of the buttons, and am not currently looking for a replacement set. But I would love input on a set that works with the color of the frame and the cable I'm using. Anyone have any ideas?
(yes I'm a sucker for mechs with aluminum frames)

Cherry G81-3100SDU with glorious OG dyesubs and not-so-glorious MY switches... I like how MY switches sound though... It's actually a really pleasant sound... but that's about it. LOL!

Well, actually the case is absolutely beautiful too! So time to find me a Leeku 3000 PCB so I can use it :D

Still swapping between my HHKB and a B.87 with with MX Blues. HHKB will always be my #1 though
