What kind of board is it? What kind of LEDs are you trying to add? Are you looking for general soldering tips, or advice specifically for adding LEDs?

I'd offer to sell my Razer, but I'm guessing that no one would want it.  And I registered it, so there's that.  Sure will be nice to get Synapse off my home PC.  :)

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hm, SKCM Browns are probably my favorite tactile Alps switches, then SKCM Blues for clicky Alps.  I have yet to try the more common switches (SKCM Whites, Blacks) actually; haven't tried any linear Alps either.

Even though I entered Alps with SKCM Blues, I think I prefer tactile SKCM switches more at this point.

I am using a tablet with a foldable Bluetooth chiclet keyboard of a make that is very common. Cramped layout and smaller keys than even a regular chiclet but  much much better than typing on a touchscreen. On the BT keyboard, I can almost touch type.

I am using it because I am travelling, and I did not have time to build a small keyboard with Cherry switches. ;)

Just bought a Model M yesterday from a local guy looking to offload some of his tech and I am loving it so far. Placed an order for some caps from Unicomp to get a more modern layout (ctrl for caps lock and two command keys) so all I need to do is build/buy a converter so I can program it accordingly :thumb:

Hm, SKCM Browns are probably my favorite tactile Alps switches, then SKCM Blues for clicky Alps.  I have yet to try the more common switches (SKCM Whites, Blacks) actually; haven't tried any linear Alps either.

Even though I entered Alps with SKCM Blues, I think I prefer tactile SKCM switches more at this point.

I too entered the land of Alps with an SKCM Blue board, and while I do still really like the switches, I'm similar in that my favorites are not SKCM Blue. My favorite switches are SKCL Green and SKCL Brown, linear switches.

I'd say SKCM Brown and SKCM Green are tied with SKCM Blue with me. They're top tier, but I started the MK hobby with linears and I guess that's just what grew on me the most. :P

Re: What Keyboard Are You Using Now?

Starts with an H.
