Like a lot of users, I use my IBM Model M keyboard with my Windows computer, however with my vintage computer collection, I use the original keyboards that came bundled with the systems when they were new.  For instance, my Apple lle, I use the venerable Apple ol keyboard, and each of my IBM systems use either the Model F, AT, or Model M boards, and finally, my Trs80 Model 4 uses the keyboard that was included in the "all-in-one" cabinet.  Of course my Commodore uses the keyboard that was installed in the computer's case, which made the Commodore what it was.  Of course, there are other computers, and their original keyboards.  I'm definitely always on the lookout for other systems that include their original keyboards.  I have even turned down offers of vintage computers simply because the keyboard/computer were mismatched.

Also did you know you can disable that signature in Tapatalk settings?

Corsair K70 Rapidfire with Cherry Speed Switches.
Never heard of Cherry Speed switches.
Are they tactile? Linear?
Recommend them?
They're essentially MX Reds but the actuation point is higher up so they feel a bit more responsive.
Ah alright. Thanks for clarifying. :D

Interesting approach. For me, part of the fun is mismatching as much as possible. I remember the gleefully ironic feeling when I first paired an IBM XT keyboard with a Mac mini computer.

At the moment, I am using a Northgate Omnikey 101 keyboard with a 2013 cylindrical Mac Pro running Windows 10 under Bootcamp.

Been using cherry ML for the past week.  It's not that bad.  better than MY for sure

Wouldn't mind using an ML board but have tried MY and it is worse than a standard rubber dome. Wet newspaper is not overstating it.

Home keyboard - KUL ES-87 w/MX Clears, Varmilo light gray PBT dyesub keycaps

I really liked the build quality of the Varmilo, but I also really didn't care for the Gateron Browns.  So I bought a KUL with clears (they were back in stock) and swapped keys.  I'm pretty happy with it, and as much as I hate to admit it, I kinda dig the Filco style caps lock and scroll lock indicators.  I'm trying to convert my wife into using the Sun control layout (control key where capslock key is), but I currently don't have a keycap set that offers the alternate control and capslock key :(

Continuing the thock-a-thon with the HHKB pro2. After 3 weeks I really like the topre switches. Coming from mxClears and BS switches, its nice to have a softer feel but the sound of the topre switches is what keeps this board in front of me. I'm excited to experience the difference a PBT spacebar makes!

Just got in a RealForce 87U 45g that I am liking quite a lot. It's hard to explain since I'm new to Topre switches. But I do find them to be somewhat similar to Reds in weight, my favorite Cherry MX switches. Considering the 45g weight that makes sense. They're not linear but also don't really have a bump to me. Certainly not a click either. And the upstroke seems a lot faster.  They pop right back into place where the Reds are a bit slower. The keyboard is also a bit more quiet and less annoying sounding than Reds even with o-ring dampeners. I think the bottom out sound being much lower pitched is the biggest thing.

The keycaps feel great. The obvious downside is I like being able to swap keycaps. I particularly like yellow keycaps for some reason. Unless there is a big change that isn't possible. The 45g Topre doesn't even come in white as far as I know. If it did I would have gotten that version because it looks nicer to me. The Novatouch is always an option. Just a bit concerned that it won't be quite as good. In addition the Novatouch seems to be roughly the same price or even higher. Factor in some nice PBTs and the Novatouch is way over the RealForce price for probably a slightly lesser build.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Bought it and the aluminium case currently on MD as a little project. Otherwise I'm on a HHKB2.
