Just built this Ikki68 X GMK Stargaze board the other day.

Switches are Durock Black Lotus lubed with Krytox205g0
Stabilizers are Wuque Studio band aid modded and lubed with Tribosys 3204

I've been using an RS60 for a while now, probably three months at this point. Have it with MX Blacks and PBT keycaps, and it feels great. The mods don't sound perfect, but getting hung up on stuff like that has always seemed a bit silly, especially when you rarely ever use them compared to the alphas. I definitely understand all the hype behind top-mounted blacks at this point, though - there's just something special about the combo even if it isn't realistically the "best" in any way.

My other daily-use board is an FC660c. I've been looking for a metal housing for it, but it just seems a bit overkill, especially when all the other mods I've done have specifically been to get the board as silent as possible. And there's just something special about a Topre board in the OEM plastic housing, anyways.

Boston is a keyboard not a brand, it's an open source project, so you can get it anytime, it will be expensive though, so you should look into everything to do with getting a one of here before spending money (at least for an alu version, believe you can print it)

Glorious Pandas were never in meta. Drop's HPs were in meta when they came out since you didn't have to frankenswitch, but other hyper tactiles have come out that are really good as well.

Yeah Glorious Pandas were made specifically to cash in on the holy pandas, they were like seen as a cheaper alternative, but they had a different stem and the leafs were worse for some reason (even though they had similar to identical moulds I'm pretty sure). The original name of them were the "Glorious Holy Pandas" which caused drama to the point where they had to change the name. There are so many large bump tactiles which are cheaper than the Glorious Pandas/Holy Pandas that feel similar that they aren't really worth it anymore.

Everybody is different, but "glorious pandas" fatigue my fingers. It's unpaid work to press them. I think you'd have to be slamming the keys like a plumber with sausage fingers to want to use them. But hey, plumbers have to type too.

After a while with my MX Keys Mini, I got back into the rabbit hole and got me a new Keychron K8 Pro for my new job. Sounds pretty good stock but I was baffled how much quieter and soft-tone the board got just with some silicone rings. The caps are ABS so, may this is the first thing I will change anyway.

KeyChron V3 + EpoMaker EK21, with as close as I can get to a UNIX layout without split-backspace (removed BS stab). Thank the gods for removable stabs.

Brown (but swappable) switches because I like tactile but I am up late nights and don't want to clackety my wife out of bed with an annoyed look on her face.

Seems like it. I have a 75% split and ended up getting a standalone numpad but I don't have the desk space to keep it out all the time.

FPGA based keyboard with a USB 2.0HS interface with a few other neat little tricks to reduce latency to the absolute floor.

Open sourced the entire design too so if others want to build it they can!

Finally got this all built up after fighting the PCBs for the better part of 2 weeks....

It did come out really good though. I went HMX cloud switches, on a POM plate, without the chungus plate foam/silicone pad thing. The clouds are pole bottom out but still full travel, I went with them cause of the pole bottom out since the case is a more open sounding one. That plus the extra deepness the POM plate adds ends up with a pretty nice sound profile on it. I did have to force break the case & add a layer of shelf liner in the bottom to get the case ping under control & get rid of the little bit of hollowness it had. Overall though worth the work IMO!

After a month or more (Edit: check that, I see my post above - less than a month) with my KBD8X MkIII I changed out my PBTfans Dolch Keycaps for the GMK Blue Samurai's and swapped out the Gateron Oil King linear switches for the DS White Jade tactiles... but ended up putting the Oil King back under the space bar. This board now seems so complete for me. Oh, and was able to go into Via and change the power-on led on the far end of the board to be a perfect matching yellow-gold to the <ESC> and <Enter> keys. I do have a Neo 65 milky white showing up at the end of the month, but not sure it will get a lot of play time?

For those who don't venture over to Making Stuff Together very often, I've just pressed this cross-eyed little fella into service as my work board. I have a lot to explore and learn about lasering a consistent set of legends, but overall it wasn't bad for my 6th hand-wire and first go at keycaps.

Yeah, I was going to use red pipe, but this one has side legend with Pi sign, so went with that
