Anytime is perfect for BCBS - you've already waited a year for it, right?!

Good point  :D I'm assuming you're in California - rumor has it BCBS wasn't too hard to find this year. Good luck getting that Alesmith/Mikkeller collab

A couple of friends waited in line overnight to get in on the Black Friday release but I was sick as a dog then so didn't get any. One of them was the first in line at some LA shop and the local news interviewed him, lol - dude walked away with a whole case of Bourbon County!

Well I'll tell you what, if you're in need of some I could trade you BCBS for that azure warmaster in your sig :D

Have you ever seen beer for keycaps go down? There are a lot of similarities between beer rarity & keycap rarity. I've seriously contemplated posting up a WTT Dark Lord for clacks/bros. Not sure if that's against the rules.

Duuuude that would be amazing - I'll shoot you a PM when I get home today! I also picked up a few more Hot Keys from Martin's latest winter sale

Caps for beer sounds like a great idea to me, and I don't think there'd be any problem with it (you aren't reselling, people trade beers on the forums all the time...) but maybe Hoff could consult the other Mods and confirm?

Oh man I miss KBS! I stopped chasing that one after my store started limiting it to 1 bottle per person AND you had to stand in line. I hear KBS is a great event if you're willing to brave the cold though!

:D I have a "no alcohol past 10PM" rule which I broke last night by drinking a beer at almost 12PM.
I have that rule too, but only if the following day is a workday.

had this yesterday.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Drake's, Avery, Mammoth Brewing, Mother Earth, Unibroue.  I'm sure there's a few others, but those are one's that I've had good luck with like 90% of their beers.

I second Avery.  I can't remember having a beer from them that wasnt amazing.

My brew for tonight after a night out of sushi for my b-day

Very nice for an end of the evening brew.  Fairly thin mouth feel for a stout and nice coffee flavor on the finish.

Looking forward to some beer and pizza in the morning nubs

I absolutely hate Fat Tire.  It smells like cat food to me and it tastes like what I imagine a mix of cat food and stale rye bread or wheat bread would taste like.

Then again, 90% of what New Belgium makes is mediocre and overrated.  Some of their collaborations are good, but pass on their other beers.

Watery and disappointing. A shame since I love banana nut bread. Also a shame since I dig some of their other beers.

I need to try a few more beers... only one I had was this alcohol-free non-carbonated molson stuff that looked, tasted, and smelled like piss water. Gets boring being an alcoholic and only drinking wine.

haha... I used to make magnets of all the different beer caps I had tried... then I was running out of space on the refrigerator LOL... so I just tossed them all in a box.

I picked up some Kiuchi beers. Right now I'm trying the white ale... it's kind of odd. A Japanese interpretation of a Belgian witbier. VERY light, starts sharp and slightly bitter/sour, but then it's trying to be smooth and finishes more 'sweet' with the orange and spice hints. I do think I would really like this in the summer, it's definitely light enough to be one of those you can just slam while still having a decent flavor.

I've now moved onto the Espresso Stout... this is the sweetest stout I have ever had. I mean, it's like candy sweet, it's just crazy. It's also too light bodied for a stout in my opinion. More like a porter at best. If you like beer for dessert, this one is for you! I think it would be perfect with some tiramisu or something... I am sure I would give it a pass in the future for just to drink on it's own.

Just got back from beer and pizza with Nubbinator at Pizzaport in Carlsbad.  Had some decent ipas and a pretty good coffee porter.

Came home and took a picture of the beer that was waiting for me along with some new friends that nubs brought along.

It's a pretty much god-tier IPA, up there with the Alpine, RRBC and Sante stuff.

But fair point, is there even such a thing as an IPA worth it's hype these days?

Other than the breweries you mentioned? Hill Farmstead consistently knocks it out of the part with their hoppy stuff. Give me Bells Two Hearted & BP Sculpin and that's all I need!

Sorry, I just gave my last two away. To answer your question, you need to go to Vermont or have someone in Vermont pick you up Heady Topper at the brewery or get really lucky when it's sold at a few of the larger beer stores in the area. It sells almost as fast as click clacks :D

I actually just had Society & Solitude #6 which was delicious. Problem with Hill Farmstead is that it's essentially unobtainium, I have an easier time getting Cantillon.

I know, it's ridiculous. I'm very very fortunate that my parents moved to Vermont and are willing to make a trip a couple times a year. If you're ever within a couple hundred miles of the brewery, it's a beautiful drive. Plus Lawson's Finest is making some great stuff up there as well!

Do you order Cantillon online? If it's anything like Chicago you haven't been able to find a bottle on the shelf for 4-5 years now...

I know quite a few beer buyers at local places as well as a few people who have contacts with Shelton and our local distro so I can find it it on occasion though I don't hunt as much as I used to. You can find Classic Gueuze, Kriek and Gambrinus at Whole Foods here maybe quarterly.

My buddy is actually hanging out at the brewery right now so hopefully he will bring back some Fou Foune and Lou Pepe Kriek bottles to share :D his Untappd check-ins have been absolutely ridiculous the last few days.

Other than the breweries you mentioned? Hill Farmstead consistently knocks it out of the part with their hoppy stuff. Give me Bells Two Hearted & BP Sculpin and that's all I need!

Now you're just tempting a road trip....   ^-^

Picked up some really good local IPA (In my opinion)

I got a 6

Would any beer connoisseur be interested in a taste?

My treat.

Recent beerzzz:

Two things:

Based on the beer you have there, I think we could be friends.

The Founders Breakfast Stout. Oh. My. God. My sister's boyfriend introduced me to it on a trip to D.C. and I instantly approved of him. He's a coooooool dude in my book.
