Why?
It’s white-on-black, there’s no inspiration. Gorton modified legends are cool. ABS DCS feels/sounds nice. The one that is sold on PMK as in stock has some pretty bad kitting. LaserCrafter and I like DCS and WOB. That’s pretty much it.

I basically bought a bunch of color chips from SP and these are the colors I liked best. Here's a photo of what they look like next to some recent sets for comparison (GMK Perestroika, GMK Nuclear Data, and GMK Deep Navy)

Pricing & Vendors
Pricing: Aiming for $115 Basekit in the US, other kits and international pricing TBD.
More
We want this set to be as cheap as possible. (110-120 USD) Based on IC form feedback, we will decide a reasonable MOQ for each of the child kits. Due to SP’s pricing breakdown, it doesn’t really make sense to run this kit at less than 200 MOQ. Please fill out the IC form as this is how we will be able to get the most accurate pricing to begin with. There are lots of other in-stock WOB sets that with would have to run against so getting high MOQs will be difficult. We have gotten our first round of quotes from SP but some kitting adjustments have been made since then, we are currently waiting on our second round of quotes. We will not be taking any sort designer cuts or royalties in hopes of getting this kit made as cheaply as possible.

I agree. Also having to wait prob 1 year to get WoB considering SP is slowing down A LOT when you can get it instock hurts a lot. Only major upgrade is kitting, with Wyse legends being a sidegrade and entirely preferential, but idk if id say that's worth it.

SP 6u mounting points are non-standard so there's no point adding them. I'm also pretty bummed about that because of some 6u HHKBs coming out soon but it is what it is.

It would be a good idea to mention that DCS shortbars are all concave. They're not spacebars, they're basically blank Shifts.

Other than that, this would make more sense as a child kit GB because SP continuously stocks DCS WoB on PMK.

Hey, I was the 40s referee. Basically, due to quotes we moved to the same approach as DCS Sol-Dark, where there's guaranteed support in the base kit and extra in a separate kit. Makes sure at least some support makes it through MOQ. Also reduces the price for a fair share of users. I hope that makes sense to you.

Honestly would love to do HHKB arrows as well as I go between the two personally but even VIM arrows aren't that popular. It will probably have to be one of the first sets to be dropped.

I don't think you need to worry too much, I would say Mountaineering not reaching MOQ is pushing through to GB without addressing feedback from the IC.
Even though DCS WoB might already exist, this kitting is more comprehensive, lower GB prices is also a factor in your favour.

I don't think you need to worry too much, I would say Mountaineering not reaching MOQ is pushing through to GB without addressing feedback from the IC.
Even though DCS WoB might already exist, this kitting is more comprehensive, lower GB prices is also a factor in your favour.

DCS Mountaineering was scuffed asf. Looked like a set that could've been great, especially if it was all one color, specifically all the color of the alphas. Unfortunate because def woulda been a cop if it hadn't been for the modifiers. The more I look at this, however, the more I want it ngl. At first, was VERY skeptical, but heavily considering picking up extras for this if it does run

I ordered color chips for this but honestly not a big fan of CYMW on WoB. I also don't really want to split sales between two accent kits on a set when I'm already pretty scared of hitting MOQ as it stands. We'll see when I get colors in hand. If the set gets a NorDE kit, it will become a must-to-get-it set for me. I always like the DCS sound and feel, which is different than the "heavy" feeling that the original Cherry and GMK keys have. Also better than the Cherry profile PBTs.

I would assume so. I think only GMK has the Cherry standard stabilizer mounts which would require a custom layout for support or vintage keyboard. Personally I would be down for the Cherry spec stabilizer spacing because I would want to use this set on vintage boards.

- Renders reflect finalized kitting
- Not adding CYMW or NorDE, I'm sorry. ISO layout support in base and ISO UK in extension is all I want to do at this time.
