[IC] DSA Feline Knight - Hello Hiragana! (updated 01/16)

The IC Form Is Right Here!

Farewell - Update 2021/03/15
Due to my changing views on IP-based keysets, as well as the several latest issues of other large IP-based sets, I will be shutting this one down (despite the fact it's more inspired rather than IP based.)
My future keysets will be majority original ideas, and if they are based on an IP or use preexisting work, they will be licensed as to provide the original creators of the source material with income for their work. I have a big one of these in the works, being PBT DJ.
SA Magica has also been taking a lot of my time, but there was also a general lack of interest for this set (only around 45 IC responses as opposed to something like Magica's 250+ responses.
Until next time, everyone.
If you want to keep up with upcoming projects (such as the Lotus, other keyboards, or PBT DJ, join the MisonoWorks Discord.

DSA Feline Knight is a set inspired by Ferris (or Felix) Argyle from Re:Zero.
Ferris, the knight of Crusch Karsten, is known as one Lugnica's best healers.
Often teasing their guests, Ferris is a break Crusch's more serious demeanor.

This set has been designed with not only Ferris's typical outfit in mind, but also his general playfulness.

If you'd like to keep up with this set, feel free to join the MisonoWorks Discord!
Alternatively, you can follow the MisonoWorks Instagram, though this is more used for progress on my keyboards.

your katakana legends are half-width, is there a reason for this or just a legend entry mistake?

also interested to know why katakana instead of hiragana, was this a personal choice or just stylistic or?

If this is related to colors, I completely understand-- it was mainly a concern of not doing over existing colorways, such as DSA Seafoam or KAM Starry Night (which this set used to be more similar to.)

Otherwise, the novelties and general design prompt were made with both the show and the light novel in mind.

I had issues fitting the full width katakana legends properly without losing contrast, so I went with half-width. Also, I used katakana because, from a design perspective, in my opinion they synergize better with the fonts used. From a functionality perspective, there are many older JIS boards (namely the JIS Dell AT101) which have used katakana legends and have been fairly large serve the JP market. As well as this, it's something different to see on DSA keycaps, which in my mind, is always welcome.

Looks nice!

Quick question though, have you checked this with anyone at SP?
Last I heard, they didn't have reverse dye-sub capabilities and your Mods/Accents are going to require reverse/all-over dye sublimation.

Ignore me, I'm dumb. I just assumed SP lol

This is planned to be Infinikey, as displayed under the "more info" section. Kitting's definitely different from what they typically use, but I was able to get Maxkey to work with similar kitting so I'm going to try my luck with them.

that's exactly the feel I was going for! I feel it's a little too colorful/unorthodox to actually pass an IC though, but we'll see, I suppose
