I just got the Realforce 55g; I thought it would too heavy for my weak, spindly fingers but I am loving how it feels.

Just got my Leopold FC660c today.  It's my first experience with topre and I'm pretty much an instant convert.  I kind of want to do something about the crappy space bar sound, though.

Like everyone else who falls for topre, I'm no pretty interested in the realforce 55 switches.  Down the rabbit hole....

It's CMQFR day. The more I use this sound-dampened keyboard, the more I like it.
I can't break away from these great feeling, tactile, Cherry MX Blue key switches...
not even with 55g 87U on my desk.

Realforce 87UB/55-gram.

Thank god! If you'd stuck with MX blues over 55g topre, something would have had to be very, very wrong with the world.

I agree . The MX Blue switch is a nice alternative; but it's not a replacement for Topre's 55g switch.
I'm using my 87U more of the time; and the more I use it, the more it feels like 'the' keyboard for me.
Whenever I stray from the 87UB, returning to it is an absolute in key-switch feel.

For the past week I've been typing (and doing just a bit of gaming) on a KingSaver with tactile salmon Alps. It's the nicest typing experience I've had. It makes enough noise to satisfy my preference for noisy, clicky, keyboards but is quiet enough I think I could take it to work without an injunction from my coworkers. The Wang keycaps on it have unusual legends in places and the bottom row modifiers are really really short compared to the spacebar but it doesn't affect the typing experience all that much. It also has scooped F & J instead of raised dots or dashes, which took longer to find at first but now I'm used to them are far more comfortable than the raised bumps.

Since it's a winkeyless board and I make frequent use of the Windows/Command key in my regular work and play I've remapped the keyboard to use my "soft spoken" layout. Caps lock -> RControl. RControl -> Windows/Command. Beyond that I use a standard 84 key layout. I haven't decided if this is a keyboard for the office or a keyboard for home. At least while I'm only in the office once a week it will probably stay home.

Edit: Mentioned also the F & J scoops <3

I use...

Das Keyboard browns at work (formerly blues)
CM Storm Trigger reds at home

I really like this setup. The browns are great for work since they're not as loud (as they could be) and I really enjoy the feel of reds for gaming. Das Keyboards are kind of expensive but it was the first mechanical I got a very long time ago, and their build quality is really good/sturdy.

Right now I'm alternating between my Unicomp BS one and new Poker II. As poker is better for gaming but writing long text is far more enjoyable on buckle spring board.

:)) You're most probably right, good sir! My desk is actually really freaking huge because my dad made it so my brother and I could study on it together...STUDY PPPFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. It's just I have too much crap on it. Looks like I'll have to remanage my desk space later this week!

UGH! I've considered this but I'm too scared to do eeeet. A royal purple type color would be so sweet on it... I have so much MDPC-X sleeving too. Have so much Aquamarine???

I've been alternating between QFR MX black and Model M for a while at home.

During the week I switched back to HHKB, and was amazed how much more fun it was to type on Topre.

And also how light the 45g is.

Needs a 55g Topre board and run out of money - welcomes himself to Geekhack and Wallethack.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Indeed it is!

There is something about blank keyboards that make them more a work of art than a workhorse.

I can see what you're saying. Just something about the purity of blank boards, but lettered HHKB's look elegant ~ I like lettered just as much. I'm tempted to buy a set.

Using my brand new TG3 with MX Blacks. Odd thing was, it came installed with some weird rubber dome cover underneath the keys. I removed it because it made the switches even heavier than it already is. I've been typing on it for a while now, and I can see why some people say it can get fatiguing.
