Typeracer DEATH MODE
« on: Wed, 27 November 2013, 02:54:47 »
I've been practicing Colemak lately, but to make sure that I don't lose my QWERTY completely, I've been fooling around with typeracer in QWERTY mode (82wpm).

To improve my overall speed, I began to try death mode for QWERTY - it is utterly brutal - I've tried 5 races so far and have yet to complete a race.

This just shows how far I still have to go to improve my technique!  What are your feelings about death mode?  Like or dislike?

EDIT:  fwiw, I only see one entry for high score on this mode for a whopping 36wpm.

Going to try it when I'm using a keyboard, give me ten minutes or so.

Got one with numbers, gave up, haha. Blank keycaps+not being able to touch-type numbers perfectly = loss.

I have tried from time to time. This mode is very good for improving accuracy.

Love Typeracer but ads interrupt me especially after visiting shoes shop. I want to shop again :-[

That's why I prefer to use tutor without ads - http://www.ratatype.com/.
I wish they add a badge system too as 10fastfingers. Clean design what girls like :thumb:

Ad blocker.  I see nothing

Tip for this Death Mode: You should try Practice instead of Typing Race, so you don't have to wait 10 seconds.

This site requires 100% accuracy, so it's very tough at the start for Backspace lovers. But that's what typing should be.

Before computer age, it's very costly of time to replace the papers in the typewriters, so every typist had been trained to get almost 99.9% accuracy.

Holy crap that's frustrating. Just tried 3 in a row, got to the last few words and choked at 90wpm :(
