Those keycaps are GMK's ABS doubleshots from a WEY, with some doubleshots from an 1800, a few BSP Royal-Alpha typewriter PBT and ABS caps, and some CMYK.

The aqua and turquoise LEDs are from taobao, blue and red--from eBay.  The LED spec is pretty much nonexistent there (generally very few parameters listed, and sometimes you get a brightness value, which I've learned does not mean much...), so I got some SMD ones to experiment with in 3528 size: magenta and aqua-blue.  They are not as bright as the original red ones, but I like the watery shade.  Almost used magenta at first.

thank you sir!
i'll try to find a few in the local electronics shop.

Would you mind linking them?
I cannot seem to effectively navigate that site.

Is anyone finding the rigidity of the steel plate + dense metal tray case to be uncomfortable?  Here's how I've added some dampening to mine, and it's helping slightly:

Thin silicone o-rings!  Place over the stand-offs:

66957-0

Insert the PCB/plate diagonally into the case, mini USB socket into the hole first, then lower the PCB onto the standoffs.  Add bolts.   Here you can see an o-ring peeking out

66959-1

Still sounds a bit metallic along the edges, but I'll be looking into other dampening methods in addition to the o-rings--perhaps something to go between the PCB and the plate around the perimeter.

I've seen some rubber bands on korean keyboards between the PCB and plate: http://www.otd.kr/data/file/pj_356/2105777654_958acd14_DCS_7620.jpg
Not sure if they're used for that purpose though, but I think it could help.

Touched up my LightSaver today: swapped side LEDs to aqua and in-switch LEDs to turquoise + blue (alternating rows) and red for indicator LEDs + Function.

That is a beauty, m'lady. I love those numpad key caps.  I wish I had some.  Plus with those windowed caps lock, num lock, scroll lock is perfect.

mx clears with 67g springs and transparent switch tops, no LED (yet), hyperfuse dsa keycaps
thanks for the help Elton and Photoelectric (and also for the helpful 'how to setup' and faq).

looking forward to getting the v2 pcb and plates, i hope they fit and mounting screws match the v1 case

Hello all!

I have a question for all you Lightsaver V1 folk:  How would you go about programming the arrow keys in the above picture to actually register arrow key presses?  I just built my V1 with almost the exact layout, but when I go into the 02D_Keymapper, all it has is ? for the arrow keys.  Do I need to you the old software to do this?

Thanks!

The latest firmware has arrows.  The intermediate one had a bug where they showed up as ? in the UI.

Strange.  I used the link in your first post for the 02D firmware.  Is there a more up to date version than that?

You're right--just downloaded it as a test, and despite the screenshots on the webpage, the arrows are still showing up as ? on the latest version :(  They do work as intended, however, despite their appearance.

Cool cool.  I'll give it another try, but the first time I tried it, when I assigned the buttons to the correct ?'s, then create the hex file, the hex file would show them as not assigned.

Are you moving the arrow keys to their non-default location?  I think that's the reason no one's really complained (or one of the reasons): most of us have left the arrow keys alone in their original location.

Also, thanks for the help Photoelectric!  I did not move the arrows.  I kept them there and placed other buttons around them.  Tried again, but same issue.

What is the error that you're seeing exactly?  In my case, the arrow keys show up as ?, but one the hex file is created and I transfer it to the keyboard, the arrow keys all function properly.

Do you reassign the arrows or do you leave those 4 keys alone when you open a new template?  I know they work as intended if you don't do anything to them at all using one of the default presets.  Perhaps reassigning them doesn't work properly.  Basically I load the LightSaver Custom layout and modify everything but the arrow keys, leaving those alone, and everything works properly after programming.

I did it both ways:  both leaving them alone and then assigning them.  Neither way worked.  However, when I use the older software and the TrueCustom Keymapper it works like a charm.  Side LEDs won't work, but the arrows do :)

Strange :(  I'm not really sure why that's happening.  I've reprogrammed my lightsaver around 15 times now, tweaking various things over time, and the arrows always showed up as ? and always worked okay regardless.  We should probably contact whoever is writing the firmware about it.

I GOT IT TO WORK!!!  Not really sure how, but it works now.  I just loaded up a new custom firmware template, and now it works.  I was also able to program the FN layer to make the up and down arrows Page Up and Page Down, and now I can have LED control also!  Thanks for the help!

Awesome!  I think just don't touch those arrow keys on the premade template at all while changing the rest, and it should be good.

Finally got around to taking some pictures of my lightsaver...

oh hello hellboy... I want to put a few LEDs on the switches so that this fellow and the windowed key that turns the lights on and off can get some backlight.

as i am currently lacking a dsa numpad (just dumb on my part forgetting to get one) i'm using my round3 numpad and it actually works okay. helps me know without looking when i've strayed over too far.

ooohhh purty lights. contemplating trying the LED replacement though.

I have to say that dsa kits are brilliant on this

^ That Fire key! ;D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

i have tried to use this but wasn't able to change the level of the lights.
the led up/down only turns on/off the lights.

although, i might be reverting the older version of the keymapper as the arrow keys doesn't seem to save in the hex file using the latest keymapper.
even though i use the arrow cluster with the question marks, when i change to a different layer and go back to it, it becomes empty.

does anyone have the latest o2d keymapper?
i can't download the latest one in duck's site (02D_KeyMapper_Custom_v1.4.271.exe).
thanks in advance

You can download the latest firmware from here

thank you!

No problem, if by any chance you have leds installed, could you please tell me how many brightness levels your lightsaver have? You can use led dn and up key to control the brightness. I have asked in this and gb thread, no one answered my question...

i have tried to use this but wasn't able to change the level of the lights.
the led up/down only turns on/off the lights.

it might be because the default fn key isn't like a regular fn key. it's actually a toggle to scroll through the layers.
there are different layers and different fn layers on a lightsaver. this caught me really off guard at first.

[I explained this pretty poorly; but know that there IS most likely a reason for your confusion, and it's because it's not entirely intuitive.]

In other news. I have a beautiful Lightsaver V1 that I will picture and post for you guys tomorrow, but I REALLY want to trade it for a v2 in 1800 layout.
Also if someone could clarify that the PCB on v2 is indeed different.
