You know how the head of the skull seemed to blend in with the base? I have seen photos of the whites in Candy Corn blending in with the orange, or the white foam in Drunken blending in. And now the green forehead of the skull bleeding into the blue base - I wonder is this some form of magic? I would think it is hard to do with plastic, isn't it?

I would think just carving until it's thin enough to be transparent (especially when you're going from a light color to a dark color like that, it makes it much easier to get the effect) or just having a very shallow first shot if you're molding. It's definitely difficult to do by hand, but when you've been doing it as long as CC...

Yeah, I think it's like exit said.  It's thin enough and there's a good amount of contrast between the two colors.  Also, for most of these multicolor skulls, the material used for the skull face usually has some translucency to it (for example, compare the opaqueness of Hardcore White with 3D's slightly translucent white), so the color of the base will be visible through the thin, semi-translucent layer.

It's a really cool effect.  For the forehead, the base color bleeds through and accentuates the forehead line.  Makes the skulls look more angry. :)

Yeah, it's an amazing effect, and it's done with an amazing subtlety on some of his caps. I've noticed it on others, but didn't notice it on the enviro until it was pointed out here.

I actually PM'd CC about exactly this technique after receiving Spumoni. I've never seen anything like it in other caps done even close to as even and smooth. Huge respect to his craft.

On some caps though, it looked washed out as though it has seen too many key presses. Ha ha. Do you feel that way too or is it a trick of the camera. I only have photos to see.

Agree. I don't know if it's just me but I kind of prefer the Eyeland over the Enviro.

Where do these bags come from?  I'm guessing CC himself, but anyone know what dictates whether you get a bag or not?  neither of my Clacks from CC arrived in such a bag.

I was wondering maybe if it was for 3 or more Clacks - I have only ever had one at a time from CC.

But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

To start with :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Don't worry man, I'm in Australia and haven't got my 420 cap either. In saying that the clack master has had some back problems so maybe he got delayed posting them, he said that only some of the intl packages were sent in his update on the 26th.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.
