Great news everyone!

If she lives, I'll bring my SSK mk II /R
And we got confirmation of eDox shipping next week. My assembler said they will be ready in time for the meet. Therefore I should be able to bring them as well!

IF I am able to come, and IF I am able to do 2 bolt mods in time, I could bring 2 brand spanking new Model M's. A 1390120 (just arrived today) and 1390131 (hasn't arrived yet). Yes they are brand new, but they have broken rivets. SDL to USB cables from orihalcon are awesome by the way.

Ed, do you find your Ms locally? Or are you sourcing them from online peeps?

I have a lot of keyboard sources, but I find a lot of them through ebay. I then do business outside of ebay.

BTW - He may send me a list with pics to post on these forums. He says he has a bunch of used M's.

Just throw that rosegold ironman at them in the head and while they're dazed and confused, grab their Korean custom(s) and run!  :))

That's how I got mine.  :-*

I'm sure I could find a small rock that does the same thing. Keep both the k-custom and the iron man! :P

Bummer, I was able to purchase tickets for Dark Lord Day last weekend so we won't be in Chicago until April 26-28.

If anyone here wants to set up a beer trade, I can bring anything from MN with me.

I'd like to get my hands on some more Half Acre Chocolate Camaro and Hearths Ablaze, anything from Pipeworks and Revolution too.

Looks like my Ergodox will arrive on Monday or Tuesday. However, I don't have the tools to assemble the thing and I'm not in the mood to learn at the moment.

So anybody at this meetup want to assemble my Ergodox for me?  Not at the meetup, because we'll be in a public location, but take it home with you and put it together.  I'll offer some payment for your services and cover shipping costs back to me.

Not to speak for SmallFry but he'll be assembling OrangeJewce's Ergodox. You could talk to him (SmallFry) about it.

It looks like I probably won't be going after all. They just cancelled bus service in my city as in they totally closed down the bus station and I don't trust my car enough to drive it that far.

Just finished my Dolch PAC 65 keyboard USB conversion mod :D, typing on it right now.  I used the PS2/USB adapter from this buy:

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=40549.0

I had to rip both the keyboard case and the adapter apart, strip a few wires, solder a few things together, etc., but it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and the all the keys appear to be working - or at the very least I haven't found anything that doesn't work yet (scoll-lock, caps-locks, num-lock, crtl+alt+del - only bummer is that it seems like the adapter is just 2 key rollover).  Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Here's some preview photos of the finished mod for those attending the meetup:

Wow, I'm impressed that the option exists tbh.  But for $70, nah, that's more than what I spent on the keyboard and PS/2 to USB converter combined.

I know... I got my 1800 for free, and while I'm not complaining at that, I'd rather not drop $70 on a controller.

I'm in one of the most boring cities on the earth, Des Moines.

Right only the 186X have 6KRO on usb or NKRO over ps/2, all other 1800 variants I know of are only 2KRO. Even with a controller mod, you would still have to add diode in every switch to make it working over 2KRO.

This meetup looks really fantastic. Kind of makes me wish I could blow off the Nashville Meetup this weekend and just drive up to join this one.

What was that? Did I just do a humblebrag AND threadcrap to promote my own event in one sentence? Yes, child, that is precisely what I just did.

Seriously though, if I could afford the time away, I'd totally love to be there.  :-*
