Gold, silver and copper thread for the stitching came in?

That reminds me, I did get new thread.  Not metallic though--hot pink and gray :)  I'll update my thread chart today.
Also, I guess my surprise is live, haha.   I am not one for teaser hype announcements I guess!

Massdrop asked me to do a 20-run of ErgoDox wrist rests to go with their current ErgoDox drop.  Check it out if you want to get in on this run!  They did an awesome job with photography, too.  I'm super excited.
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/Noko-Leatherworks-ErgoDox-Wrist-Rest
Congrats! If I ever get a Ergodox, I'll need to grab one of your wrist rests.

On the website why is the height of the ergodox considered important?

Aren't most of these close to the same height?

I can make them either the height of the regular case, or a thinner height to be used on top of the plastic "rest" of the full hand.

A quick heads up that I'm stuck with extremely slow internet until Friday so if you've contacted me in the last day or so I may not be able to reply until then.  (crosses fingers that this posts successfully!)

woah. those look crazy, crazy nice.  I don't have an ergodox (yet), but if I did those would be a must have.

What color is that?  I might just have to get one in a 60% version.

saddle tan :D it really lives up to its color name.

oh man, and the smell! the smell of them is so nice, my wife thinks im really weird for sniffing these but when i was a kid we used to have horses and my mom fox hunted, the smell brings me back to saddles, straps, boots, and stuff. Good memories all from the wonderful smell of real leather.

Thanks jolonnar! and the shipping she provided was amazing and it was packed really well.

Good stuff noko

Thanks, it was pretty exciting to watch them sell out so fast!  I'm going to do another run in the future though.  (And to those who liked what I made for Glod--I am thinking of offering that style (saddle tan/white) as a second option to the black and white, in the next Massdrop sale)

That sucks. :( What happened (not that you will be able to read this until Friday).

Nope, nothing bad, just had to go on a 2 day trip and had terrible wifi access.  Fortunately I got to come back early.

Awesome pictures, and thanks for the positive feedback :)
You'll have to thank my husband Crasis, though, for the packaging job.  Like Bingecap, it's turned into a couple enterprise  ;)

--

Here's some pictures of the other rest sent out this week too.  The gray has really weird properties (it's like when you try to do a second coat, it actually strips off the first as it goes on, hence the brushstrokes around the girl, argh.  Have some ideas to try next time though).  I like how the girl herself turned out though!  Hyperboobs.

Dat orange

glod's pictures are a lot more accurate on the colour than my crappy camera, hehe. The saddle tan has a real orange undertone to it.
I have never tried out the actual orange dye I have on a wrist rest yet.

Noko,

Would you be able to create a rest smaller than 60%? This would be for a mouse actually. Length wise no more than 8 inches, width between 2 inches and 2.5 inches.

Actually lots of people have asked for a mouse size, and I'm going to be getting the parts cut to do them, probably once I've got this Massdrop order out the door.  :thumb:

Oh man if you start offering mouse rests custom order I'm gonna have to get myself in line for a saddle tan one, maybe it would have a curved side

Probably getting ahead of myself, with your current waiting list and the massdrop deal you must be pretty busy

Sorry for being quiet lately!  I've got a bunch of cool stuff to show off, but getting to the computer to upload pics just hasn't happened yet.  For one thing, I got new acrylic paint in the mail, and it's great stuff.  Going to show some colour samples and a bit of Binge art I messed around with to test them out :)

But here's one sample for now--I really wanted to show vibex how his 60% is coming along:

This one's for Tarzan.  It took the shape really well--totally beyond what I was expecting--and already looks great even before I've done the black highlights.

I asked quite a bit from Noko and I would not be surprised if she is able to deliver with all of the talent I see thrown around this thread.

A quick note that I got in two new colours for stitching: grey and hot pink.  Sample picture in the first post has been updated.

In other news: acrylic paint time!

I've made up a better sample card but my camera needs to charge first (plus then I can take it in morning sunlight tomorrow).

Thanks :)  I got a couple of light blue/turquoise paint options (and white to lighten them as well) so I should be able to match your logo pretty well, if you would still be interested in that as a design.

A quick note that I got in two new colours for stitching: grey and hot pink.  Sample picture in the first post has been updated.

In other news: acrylic paint time!

I've made up a better sample card but my camera needs to charge first (plus then I can take it in morning sunlight tomorrow).

huehuehue-- I can't wait to see some pictures of my impending wrist rests...

I asked quite a bit from Noko and I would not be surprised if she is able to deliver with all of the talent I see thrown around this thread.

However, here's what I did to test out the paints as a practice for Binge's :)

Massdrop order is packed!  Unfortunately UPS is being a pain in the ass in terms of me shipping to their fulfillment center.  Not an unfamiliar story to Canadians.
I am sure the order will arrive to Massdrop this week, even if (as I think one of the many UPS people I was shuffled between on the phone said) I have to take the box to a shipping center in person argh.

It's been a little more of a time crunch than I would have liked.  The rain lately has been part of it, but another is that I really don't have enough space in my apartment for efficiently drying so many pieces, lol.  I am sort of thinking about whether I want to jump off the cliff of starting to rent a work space and expanding.  Lots to keep stewing in the brain.

It was a good experience and I think I'll be able to be more efficient next time around, but I've decided for the moment I'm going to focus on custom orders for a couple of weeks and then see where I am in terms of doing another Massdrop order.  I'd prefer to put you guys first--and one of these things being working on projects GH members have been interested in including mouse rests and GH notebook covers (spoilers).
