Haha, NOOB.  :P  But seriously, even better!  That's another thing I wonder... Are reposts in these media threads almost "needed"?  Obviously not literally, but you know, are there enough people that didn't see them the first time around that it warrants a repost?

Mostly I just want to spam pics...  :-[

Offended newb here (/s). I browsed all the CC sale threads when I first joined, and looked at a lot of cc threads, but that was the first closeup I've seen of the eye.

You certainly won't hear me complain, these pics just get better with age. Clack's catalog is so deep, and the craziest part is all of the stuff he hasn't released. It boggles the mind.

I think it is. I think it's great seeing these old runs of Bro's work. It's almost like with classic cars. It just re-enforces people's desire and want for things they cant have  :))

Every post of mine includes a Clack.

<----
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

You'd basically just need a lens with an adjustable aperture, if you want to control the bokeh.  Really, any lens can give you bokeh if it has a shallow depth of field.  But typically if a camera has an in-built lens (like a phone), it's intended to give you a wider depth of field since that's what you want for "most" pictures.

cool, thanks for the info!  i haven't done any research yet, but if i do get a new camera, i was thinking of one of those more compact mirrorless ones that takes different lenses.  not too expensive, since i would probably just end up using it only for taking pics of keyboard stuffs and my cat. :P

and... obligatory clack pic - my first clacks. :)

I have a mirrorless camera and absolutely love it. Small and easy to take with me, and it accepts all the old vintage analog lenses that I inherited. So I shoot with a pretty decent macro lens for an additional cost of $20.  :)

The most important aspects of a shot are lighting and composition, so having a *good* camera is really all you need. Diminishing returns and all that. That said, if you want perfect colors and better low light performance you'll see improvements as you spend more.

And keep in mind I'm just an enthusiast who takes pics and has taken a class or two. I'm by no means an expert.  ;)

How is that possible guys it was definitely one of the most talked about around the time of the sale. That sale was my favourite clack sale, veteran and type"s" easily two of my favourites! Unfortunately it was only open to US residents if I remember correctly.

It had such a long life ahead of it.

This is mooses's right?

That's so sad :(
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs.

I mean no offense to anyone by this, but I wonder how many newbs are seeing this cap for the first time.  :)  Welcome to the Envy Club, my friends!  :P

TBH dude, I think it's the first time I'm seeing it too :P The eye definitely.

snap I've not seen that thing before either

How is that possible guys it was definitely one of the most talked about around the time of the sale. That sale was my favourite clack sale, veteran and type"s" easily two of my favourites! Unfortunately it was only open to US residents if I remember correctly.

Prob because it's not bright or Miami coloured? idk looks sick though

This pictures fits here too, shameless crossposting:

Holy guacamole, is that shooped or for reals?

ahh I'm an idiot, it's clearly real.

It is real, I did not do shooping here, except a Lightroom exposure setting here and there!

hmm how are those middle ones darker?  did you mod them?

I did not mod them, but the gnomes did produce them for sure. I did not know that they are not seen yet, they seem to be a poor mans version of the silver Checkeys! The color is nice though, a rather dark grey I would say. Also there is no F2 mark there, only the nice FX logo surrounded by a circle:

i like the focused and unfocused bits (haha i have no clue about photography terminology).  your pics make me want to get a real camera.

Bokeh, breh.

Side-effect of shallow depth of field.  ;)

ah yeah that's it.   thanks hoff. :)

i'm assuming i'd need a special lens for that?

wait never mind.  i don't want to go down the photography rabbit hole.

I'm by no means an expert.  ;)

Hoff explained everything perfect! Unfortunately it is really a little bit of a rabbit hole when you want good low light performance and gorgeous looking bokeh, and overall nice and not harsh rendering. All of these parameters together result in rather expensive lenses. I do have a 50mm lens which I got for free with an old analog camera, which is really nice and I do also use it from time to time. It works and there are good results, but when there are extremely different light sources it gets very bad. Recently I got the LG G4, which has a decent smartphone camera, and for normal day to day use it is perfect. But for everything else I really love DSLRs or other sophisticated cameras.

ah those are interesting.  i'm guessing that's what they look like before cc applied the metallic coating to them.

haha hmm so most likely this would get very expensive.  what i really want is some basic control over focus.  the camera i use is pretty much automatic with its focusing, and it seems to randomly pick what it wants to focus on when i'm trying to do macro shots.  i have to do this dance where i stick my hand right in front of the lens, press the button to focus, then remove my hand and retry focus on the subject.  it's a big pain in the ass.  and then everything still comes out relatively fuzzy.

but things look okay as long as i use my desk tripod and have enough light, and the damn camera doesn't decide to focus on the wrong thing. :P
a cute stray cat combination that comes out happily when you look at your face is cute

It had such a long life ahead of it.

This is mooses's right?
Indeed, it's the broken Topre Jack. I fixed it to where I was confident it would hold up though, so hopefully it's doing just that for the person I wound up trading it to.

Did you just glue the stem back on?
