I typed this post on my Slanck. I also developed a stronger, cleaner, easier handwiring method.

This should give you an idea when mounted to an MX board, left to right -
1. Nantucket Selectric SA R3
2. Nautilus Keybuto I
3. (Name tba) Keybuto II
4. Hyperfuse Cherry R1

I've been pretty comfortable with the Keybuto II on both SA and Cherry sets.

i love when people post pictures with no accompanying details or pictures... lol
Bro ever have a sale for these? saw it on the artisan directory but have never seen actual pictures besides that one.

Anywho i prefer what SUK did with his past two version of the keybuto. And I don't see any problem with artisans making sculpts based off of the same idea, as long as theyre not copying one another who cares. Would be dumb to limit people like that, im not going to say hey I know you find X very interesting and youd like to make it but So and So did it once so no ones allowed to make another version ever.

We could just wait on Bambino's response instead of listening to you rattle on about ****.

No one really cares what you prefer, I think Merutz was simply bringing an observation, that required no textual support. There's nothing wrong with enjoying ideas, but clearly some see similarities and remark about them.

Oh **** for a second I thought we were on a forum for artisans where artisan makers posted upcoming sales and people discussed things about those sales such as sculpts, colorways, dates, prices, and everything else pertaining to that sale. I must have been wrong though! Thank you for reminding me that the forums arn't a place for discussions and if you havn't been here for years no one gives a crap about what you think! Ok. Since it's been more than 24 hours since my post and Bambino was online on the forum (it's hard to believe he didn't check his own thread) I can say a few words about it if you'd like breusch91.

I did see your answer as soon as you posted, but I preferred (as bee said) to hear Bambinos version of the story. To be honest with you, given his already established fame here, I was expecting quite a bit of heat, but not just what you did. No one said a thing, except you. I guess the lawyer hired himself a lawyer  :))

Jokes aside, the design is clearly a rip-off of the other one. It could've been yours or mine, but it happened to be Bros - one of the artisans who gets most heat for "not making enough caps to please the plebs".
You're clearly on the offensive since you even jabbed at Bee with that witty sarcasm of yours and something about age on the forum - boo hoo.
Everyone can share their opinion, but it is my own opinion that you are in the wrong. - "as long as they're not copying one another" - this is the most blatant copy of someones design I've ever seen on this forum.

There are literally tons of ideas out there to be made, but he chose to do this one.

Sorry you feel this way. I respectfully and completely disagree. The Keybuto II has much more in common with, and is a direct successor to, my original stylized Keybuto character. Regardless, this thread is about Suited Up Keycaps sales and announcements, and these comments are veering far away from that, especially your arguments with other forum members. Please start a new thread on the subject if you want to initiate a public discussion, or you can PM me if you have more to say.

As to your 24 hour expectation, vague and apparently off-topic feedback isn't worth my time to respond to. I'm much more likely to respond to constructive comments.

While the overall shape does look similar to the bro cap kabuto, the details from top to bottom much more closely resemble the keybuto I (mouth, nose, helmet, etc, etc), and this is clearly more an evolution of design than a copy in my opinion.  I have no issue with it.

Totally disagree. What similarities are there other than the fact that they are both samurai helmets? What you are saying is the equivalent to saying anyone who makes  a turtle design artisan is blatantly copying bambino's snapper. Anyone who makes an otter is blatantly copying binge's otterphile. If they share similar characteristics, contour lines, shapes...then maybe! But these are so different.

Something like what k3kc does is blatantly copying someone elses design. Don't get it twisted.

My opinion is that it's really a survival of the fittest in a consumer market, I buy what I like... Actually I watched a documentary on Tsukiji Fish Market that says the people there sell fish not to make money, but to make people happy, which differs them (artisans) from businessmen. My point is I wouldn't pay any sum of money for quality that I don't feel is good, even if the maker is famous.

... is a direct successor to, my original stylized Keybuto character.

There's your fallacy. Your keybuto was never original to begin with, and with this iteration you're just getting closer to the other design in terms of aesthetic cues.

What arguments(plural) with other members? There was like one guy. If anything, there was another user who pointed out the same issue I first made observation of.

You're literally shoo-ing away criticism, while deflecting the real conversation to be had, all while being a jerk about it.

Not worth your time

There's an issue pertaining to artistic integrity. Since we're talking about artisan grade products, these most certainly are synonymous in their visual representation to their creator. I see a fugu, I think of ETF.
I'm sure any artisan here can do a better Kosmonavt sculpt than the original and Booper would 100% agree with me on that, since it was her first cap and made on top of a cherry profile keycap(think bulky and tall), BUT do any of them do it? No, of course not...

I was just trying to understand your decision, since you are clearly able of original ideas (the thought and explanations you put in the Zen series was awesome), but in my opinion - which is clearly not shared by many of you - the keybuto is in no way an original design.

I get what you are saying, but I think you are wrong, that you know it, and that you are pushing the issue further regardless.  By your logic, KeyForge is guilty of the same 'artistic crime' that you accuse Bambino of.  They make the Mayhem cap, a great cap by itself, but it bears a similarity in concept and context to Bro's Reaper. But maybe hooded skulls are a more common motif in society so you didn't bother criticizing it. Samurais, however, are not nearly as common and therefore anyone who makes one is clearly ripping off another artisan, right? C'mon man, you know better than that.  Even if he was inspired by Bro's Samurai, Bambino's Keybuto I and II are both original sculpts (that look excellent by the way) and for you to come into this thread and try to call him out for what, stealing?, is honestly the most petty thing I've seen. You should've just said "Hey, this reminds me of Bro's Samurai", and left it at that. Instead you chose to make an ass out of yourself.  At least it was entertaining though. Some drama in addition to the usual ogling of artisan keycaps.

... is a direct successor to, my original stylized Keybuto character.

Merutz you need to step down your sucking up to Brocaps and take it to the MechanicalKeyboard slack channel where it belongs. That's all that this is.
If bro had a problem with the Keybuto, a year ago when it came out, I'm sure he has contated Bambino about it like the professional artisan he is.

I don't even want to argue with you because this kind of **** is getting so ****ing annoying. Everyone grabbing every chance they can get to defend bro or suck up to him in some way.

<snip>

I don't know you from a hole in the wall, but you're coming across like a ****.  You post some passive aggressive picture of two keycaps side-by-side with no explanation and when you don't get a response, you see that as an opportunity to attack the keymaker in his own thread.

Now, said keymaker has responded, but you refuse to move on.

I've never seen that bro-cap and have only seen this Keybuto cap.  That says to me, there's room for both.

You don't like it?  Fine, you've said so and no one really cared.  I think it's time to drop it.
