Edited: Oops, forgot the link! Here it is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-10-Texas-Industrial-Peripherals-iKey-keyboard-SL-86-911-PS-2-Hulapoint-/141017407492?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20d54ae004

Not sure if a "great find" or a "weird find" but on Ebay a seller is selling a lot of 10 of these with free shipping to CONUS. Who knows, a Geekhacker might want a keyboard for their kids that can take being dumped into a bathtub or sat on, or outfit a kindergarten class with them. Here is the description:

Up for sale is a lot of 10 used Texas Industrial Peripherals iKey ruggedized keyboards with integral mouse.

There are 3 different model #'s to choose from SL-86-911-RED-PS/2, SXL-86-911-PS/2, & SL-86-911-PS/2 There is no visual difference between the three models that I have been able to determine.

Some keyboards have a 4 screw mount and others an 8 screw mount system (see pics)

I have a couple hundred of these so if you have a preference on the mounting screw pattern or the model # please let me know

These were removed from State Police cruisers in working condition. I have not tested them but they are guaranteed to work correctly (see return policy for details)

Free Economy Shipping in the lower 48. All others please use shipping calculator.

And pictures:

I was toying with the idea of getting it myself, since they even have integrated backlighting (typing in the dark!), but on the iKey webpage it gives the dealbreaker for me (in bold):

Probably metal dome snap switch.

Probably metal dome snap switch.

Ah, that makes sense. Too bad it's 200 grams, I don't know if I've ever used one of those and it might be fun.

I should stop looking! Anyway, another seller is selling an apparently identical (down to model numbers) keyboard with the company name Data911 for $2.99 plus shipping ($7.98 where I live, so the total is $10.97). That's cheap enough that I won't feel guilty playing with it. :)

Here are a couple of links:

Woohoo, monster 200g metal dome switches, here I come!

Also, for those of you who like Cherry MX Blacks (wimps!), combined with a rubber cover that makes them super-Topres (just kidding about that,  I don't know how they feel), do an Ebay search for "Data911 keyboard" -- there are interesting items like:

101757-0
(Note that this is a COMPLETELY different beast than the other keyboard above, I just thought it was interesting combining a rubber-dome-like sleeve with a linear MX Black).
