Just to clarify why no pics are allowed is because we are treating this as our baby and we want to be as careful as possible. This is a global launch (CM is pretty big) unlike you've seen from our competitors in the premium keyboard segment. A lot of our overseas teams would like to keep everything synchronized.

Also we are not just targetting the mechanical keyboard enthusiast, but attempting to bring keyboard enthusiasm to the mass market. We want to grow this community and the appreciation for better technology.

Most of you have seen pictures from CES/Computex. The minor changes we're doing to final are going under final batch of testing. It's also the reason why we didn't show final packaging ;)

Also, why should you get to see the latest pics if you didn't go to KeyCon?
Pfft.... gotta have benefits to showing up.

Best wishes of success to all involved with the novatouch project. Coordinating anything globally requires copious amounts of planning to be done correctly. Very ambitious!! <3

P.s --- when is that alcor coming stateside??

I don't know where this belongs, but this seems to be the most viewed KeyCon thread at the moment.

I had to leave before I could present today.      I would love to give my little talk on polymer processing, with a slight "focus" on injection molding, at some point.  I think it seems like the best option currently is to record it and upload it to youtube.  So in case that results in a lot of people missing it, I'm posting here to alert you guys to this fact.  There is still another presentation coming!   :)

Thanks guys.

BlueBar had something he wanted to present but with our stream issues I'm not sure we'll be able to present it live on stream. I'll leave it up to him to show it off.

Don't passers-by think it's odd that you are typing on a large keyboard not connected to anything?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

This weekend was amazing.

I was telling input nirvana that I really didn't wanna leave tomorrow. To all the people who came out and hung out, it was real. Saw some old friends and made some new ones. Bay area homies <3 , y'all are incredible. We'll see each other soon and play keyboards and kendama again haha.

If I didn't get to chat with you a lot I hope we can chat more in the forums soon.

If you didn't come out, please show up next con. They're a lot of fun and I think something special.

If you watched the stream or followed this thread, I hope you enjoyed yourself. Thanks for checking it out.

I'll be loading up pictures soon! :D

We've been doing one-ish a month leading up to KeyCon and I think the next one is due to happen in San Francisco since KeyCon counts as South Bay.

KEYCON 2014 was an amazing gathering of special people. I'm absolutely astounded at the SAME SHARED QUALITIES of the individuals. It's really quite remarkable, I'm lucky to have witnessed this gathering. A tremendous amount of quality information was presented, strong bonds formed, and future endeavors solidified. I don't know if everyone fully recognizes how incredibly special this community is and how stunning this weekend really was.

On a personal note, I apologize for being quiet/distant/not totally in the present, as I've been extremely tired (working/traveling out of town) and was creating (work) reports on my iphone/ipad during Keycon, but I was still observing, listening, and adsorbing most of the happenings. I have gotten a lot of food for thought in several areas thanks to you Geekers.

Special thanks to Ron for hosting (again), and the Geekers that traveled so far to be here this weekend, (even a couple newbies!)….I hope you long distance travelers found it worthwhile, it was great having you. It's often a tremendous cost of money/time and can be a burden, glad you didn't let it stop you.

I'll contact you Geeks via PM to talk trash about everyone behind their backs.

Thanks to everyone for coming and thanks to those that watched all the streams!  I had fun running around talking about keyboards, even though I'm no CPTBadAss.   :p   The whole weekend was amazing too.  From the espresso to the keyboards to the KENDAMAAAAA.

And it was awesome to meet all you peeps that showed up!  I'm always amazed at how great of people come to these things.  I consider all of you my friends now.

Hello, all. I had a ton of fun attending my first Keycon. Was a blast to hang out with an awesome group of people. I'm glad a lot of people now are planing on buying Kendamas. This event was definitely worth the plane ticket!! I plan on going to Keycon 2015 and will hopefully have a better keyboard game there.  :p

I'd like to thank Ron for hosting the event, Evilhmd, and hcry4 for giving me rides to various outings.

All this positive feedback makes me realise what an overwhelmingly friendly and positive group Geekhackers are.

Very community!

So friendship!

Looks like I missed a good one.  Hopefully something can be organized for east of the Mississippi soon enough.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing

massdrop Kendamas
Gotta thank Ron again for hosting so many of us. Thanks to all the presenters, everyone who brought so many keyboards, and whomever brought the pies, cookies, and cupcakes(V1ral?).

PS to Ron: I think half the cans of diet soda were drunk by me...

I brought 2 of the pies and cookies ;] I think V1ral brought the other 2 pies and cupcakes :3

A thanks from me as well to everyone who organized this - I didn't show up on Sunday but Saturday was great.  Hopefully there can be a regular minimeet somewhere for those of us local to the area.

We've been doing one-ish a month leading up to KeyCon and I think the next one is due to happen in San Francisco since KeyCon counts as South Bay.

is there a thread for this? I'm pretty sure like 4+ of us locals are willing to meet.

So was West Side Story better than OG?
I think so. There were securely more people and boards this time

Keep an eye out in off topic for the term "Kiibohd". I think HaaTa usually organizes the meetups. :)

Haata's presentation was awesome. That keyboard with the transducer/harmonic thingy was crazy..

Yep, the other two pies and cupcakes were from me! I tried to theme everything orange and black, not sure how well that came across though haha.

I think when he finally explained how that keyboard worked, everyone in the room was like HOLY **** OMG!  :D

I wanna thank everyone who helped organize and make this happen! I could only attend Saturday, but I had so much fun seeing everyone's enthusiasm towards a shared hobby. I now feel assured that I'm not crazy when I start flipping out over keyboard stuff.  :P

Sorry if I seemed quiet and didn't really introduce myself, I get distracted by things easily, and I'm not great with socializing. I also apologize that I spent a lot of time with my group of friends. They wanted to come see what the hype was about, but weren't quite as interested in everything going on after the first hour or so.

Meh, it was fine.  It was nice to meet you finally!  :)  And I can imagine that bringing friends that aren't quite as crazy as yourself can cause some attention span issues.   :))

On the plus side, at least you didn't go take a nap in your truck like Input Nirvana!  (and then have the audacity to claim that the nap was the best 12 minutes of the day!!)    :p
