Kind of, but I would say it's definitely more on the grayish/off white side, than "clear white"
Hi,

Is the GMK 3K color = White?

Hi,

Is the GMK 3K color = White?

It's kinda off-white or a very light greige

3K is the color of GMK Royal Alpha base. You can see the light greige tint when mounted on a white board. On darker boards it looks like a dull white.

Change the text on the alphas to a gray color and you might get me.. not really feeling the high contrast alphas and low contrast mods

I think that it would be cool to see the text color of the alphas in GMK 2B. maybe in the future when there is a round 2.

Sooo this is going to sell extremely well. Like.. maybe record breaking if it's marketed well lots of Reddit post. Anyway, can we please split the numpad out of the basekit to save $$ for the MAJORITY of people. I don't see any kits failing to meet MOQ for such a set, so there's literally no risk for people that want NumPad and $$ to be saved for people buying only the base kit.

Love the base, had everything anyone needs except spacebars stuff. Don’t do the split kits thing.

It could be a $100 Base kit without Numpad/ISO keys.. With them more like $130

+1 to that - I hate it when kits split out the numpad, it's massive FOMO. Maybe I'm not using a 96% now, so I only get the Base, then I move to a larger board later. Ugh, nothing worse.

If you want that buy a different set hehe :P

1800 boards are getting more and more popular, there def is a market for numpads.

So I've been working on updating the additional kit, would you guy prefer if the spacebars were in a seperate kit, or keep them in the additional kit?

Proposed changes right now:
- Remove Mod colored 1u R1 Pipe key from Base Kit
- Add 1.25u Tab key into Base Kit
- Seperate Spacebars from Additional Kit, create Spacebars Kit
- Adding R3 1.75u enter & R2 backspace for 40s to the Additional Kit

Let me know what you guys think about these changes!

Could you add two 1.5u Super and an extra 1u Alt key to the base for tsangan compat for users the prefer GUI next to the spacebar? Similar to what GMK Wavez did.

I think the base kit might be full, I'd be down to include them in the additional kit! I definitely use my right alt key as my windows keys on all of my WKL boards so adding this in is a must for me too! Thanks for the reccomendation!

Love the concept! I’m just not sure how I feel about the alpha legends being CR? Something lower contrast may be nicer but then you run the risk of looking too similar to Honeywell

Text + Icon was an asthetic choice that was chosen to give the set a more classic look. :) It's also one of my favorite mod choices, I love it on R1 Honeywell!

Currently reworking the kits to provide more coverage for everyone

Changes so far:
- Removed  R1 1u Mod Colored Pipe Key
- Added R3 1.25u Tab key & Second B to Base Kit
- Reworked Additional kit to provide way more support for 40s/ortho users
- Added 2x 1.5u Super keys & extra 1u Alt key to the additional kit for tsangan users who would prefer to use these keys
- Created Spacebar kit that offers a ton of support for split space boards

Users mentioned that they are interested in adding accent colored spacebars to the set, I'm a bit hesitant since there are 3 accent colors in the base kit. If I add accent colored bars to the spacebar kit that would add a minimum of 6 extra spacebars to the kit (only offering support for 6.25u & 7u). I don't really want to make the spacebar kit that big, but if there is enough interest we can figure something out.

I feel like these colors could easily be made with PBT and wonder why everytime people take PBTable colors and cripple them with ABS. I made the mistake of buying a few GMK keysets that I’m afraid to type of because of how disgusting shine looks. Although it appears to me the trend is to buy a keyset and type on it exactly long enough to not develop noticeable shine then sell it on mechmarket for 100$ more than what you paid. So the whole idea of PBT and being cheaper, lasting longer, really I guess doesn’t make sense if you see keyboards as a profitable hobby.

Cheaper, lasting longer, you just have to look at inconsistent, blurry and/or crooked dye-subbing every time you look at the keyboard.

I have no problem with shine, so I know which I prefer.

I will check if there is any reference available in the internet. Based on RETURNISO's picture they look the same. By the way, the MMK color is very nice. It is less saturated than OG Beige. It is actually closer to kaki, than beige. The MMK has dark gray legends and I think that Tyson's proposal will look great with CR legends.  :thumb:

Consider removing the mod-colored R1 1u \| from the base kit. This key is not commonly used. The prevalent split backspace configuration is:

The minority of users who like putting tilde first still have the option of doing so, just with alpha-colored keys.

I think you have too many ISO Enters in the base kit. Consider offloading some of them to the additional kit or dropping them altogether. On a related note, I don't think ISO-UK support in base is a must as those keys are only used by about 3% of all users.

As for the additional kit, you can drop the 1.75u space. Not only is that key very uncommon even among 40% boards (it isn't used on anything >40%), but there is only a single board (Vortex Core) that uses one 1.75u; the remaining 2–3 boards (JD40/45, Prime_L) all need two. Plus, the kit doesn't have the keys required to cover those boards anyway.

Speaking of 40% support, from what I've seen, the consensus among 40s and ortho users seems to be that offering just 2–3 keys is not useful at all. “Designers should either offer proper support or not bother at all.” Price isn't as much of an issue; proper compatibility is. As it stands, I don't think any 40s or ortho boards could be correctly covered with the minimal support in this kit (other than Romeo and Equinox, which are designed to be base-kit–compatible anyway).

I think from a seller's perspective the logic is that not including the ISO keys would then lose 3% sales, but including them would not impact non-ISO buyers' decision as much

Personally I don't mind a separate ISO kit, and yes 4 ISO enters is uncommon

There are 4 ansi enters in the kit as well.
I guess the fair thing to do, when including iso in base, is to include the same amount of accents like it is now.

It would. Plus or minus $5 or $10 can actually make a big difference when it comes to sales.

Nice! I have to admit I missed that post. Looks like you've already covered most of my suggestions (glad to see we're on the same page). Looking forward to seeing the updated kits.
