Title: Converting Cherry KXN3-8451 using HASU converter
Post by: slayer12 on Fri, 31 January 2020, 09:40:51
Hi,

I'm trying to convert the Cherry KXN3-8451 to USB.
Unfortunately, the XT converter is missing so I'm trying to wiring my XT-USB HASU converter directly to the PCB.

The J3 (pin 1-6) seems to be the XT output so I wired:

PIN 5 -> VCC
PIN 4 -> GND
PIN 1 -> CLK
PIN 2 -> DATA

The keyboard does not work.

I tried to short-circuit SD3 and SD4 pin (which is connected to PIN1 and PIN2 on the XT output) to GND and some characters printed out continuously (when I pressed any keys on the keyboard) without stopping so I think that the converter is working properly (I diy the converter using Teensy 2 and use with my other PS2 keyboard without any issue, just flash the XT-USB TMK converter firmware to test with this cherry board)

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks
