If 2017 is soon to you, then yes.  :p

While I'm here:
Sculpted with white mods?
Uniform R3 with both mod options?

I'll get a legit poll up sometime.

Uniform please! Not enough uniform sets out there. And it's inspired by a uniform right? (heh)

Out of interest:

Not in the slightest. They have a much different feel to them since the SA are very thick ABS and the DSA are a bit thinner  and (usually) PBT.

If/when a poll goes up, sculpted will be my vote, hoping that interest is shared by others, as this'd be a lovely set.

No updates on any sort of time frame yet.  Regardless, we are closing in on 1100 votes on MD, so thanks for all the support!

I've been working on the set in my free time, I have quite a few tweaks & changes coming.  I've also been working on a cleaner 2D render, not quite as nice as T0mb3ry's, but I think it will look much better than the KLE renders.  Here's a small preview:

The 2D render looks great, I love the Aurebesh alphas as I've previously stated and am really holding out hope it sees production soon enough. 2017 will be a busy year for MD and SP, tons of cool SA/DSA sets in both the massdrop and production queues.

In terms of profile I rather like the sound of the r2 - r2 - r3 - r3 - r3 profile used in the capsule Cockpit kit of Godspeed. Not completely flat, not profoundly sculpted.

I own both flat and sculpted sets and find the former much easier typing experience, but the overall difference wouldn't stop me buying any particular set.

Kind of curious about that profile as well.  I tried my brothers R3 Ice Cap set and I found it quite nice.  I guess we can wait and see what the verdict is on the 22333 profile.  I'm assuming that will be in peoples hands before this set even drops.

Massdrop, sometime next year.

I like r3, I have an ice cap set too and it feels great - I don't mind sculpted either though, just not as much my cup of tea for the most part. I think 2-2-3-3-3-3 will be a nice compromise and I definitely see more sets in the future offering an option similar to Mito's Cockpit kit.

Hoping this set and Miami Dolch come up on Massdrop as soon as possible come next year, SP's back log is gigantic.

Sorry, by "alphanumeric" I meant the punctuation keys as well. The punctuation keys look like they have regular legends in the renders.

You can install an Aurebesh font to see some of the symbols that are not included here.

Ah I thought that's what you might've been saying.  It was like that at one point.  The thing is, as it stands, the Aurebesh option already has 36 custom legends.  Do we need to add 10+ more?  I'm not sure yet.  Maybe there wouldn't be a significant price change by adding a few more.  I was trying to keep a balance of look and cost factor and that was why I went with centered mono legends.  I'll revisit this when it gets closer to drop time.

I like the full Aurebesh layout but if adding the extra 10 drives up the cost like crazy it may not be worth it, have novelties and stuff to play around with regardless. If not then I'm definitely all for it.

I just find it more logical and aesthetically pleasing for all the keys that type characters to have either standard legends or Aurebesh legends.

What process are you going to be using to make the legends? If they're going to be dye-sublimated, I don't see how they could cost much more. If they're going to be double-shot, they might, but I have a feeling that any additional costs will be rendered insignificant by the popularity of the drop.

They will be doubleshot.

Quote
25 sets                   $82.08 per set
50 sets                   $53.00 per set
100 sets                 $38.46 per set

That was the quotes I got back in February for the Aurebesh set with 26 custom legends being A-Z.  I've since added 0-9 and adding punctuation would bring it up to 22 or so more custom legends, nearly doubling that price.  Would Massdrop be able to get better pricing?  Probably.  I'll mock-up and few options and get quotes when the set has a drop date.

Anything under like $60-70 would be a win in my book if you get every single legend in Aurebesh, $40~ (even 50) at 200 for the ones you currently have would be awesome because it's basically the same price as one pays for standard Latin and the MOQ would be hit with absurd ease.

ISO kit, standard alphas and numpad kits will certainly be included.  They weren't added to the MD poll because I wanted to gauge interest in the other kits I wasn't sure about.

is it possible to add aurebesh punctuation keys as additional pack?

I will be looking at getting quotes and different variations of the aurebesh kit.  I don't really want to break it out in to another kit, if anything they will just be added to the aurebesh kit.

I hope you are going to stick with the Alt Gr layer on the inernational kit. Most GBs have been avoiding it recently, which makes a set less desirable to me.

This is a really sharp looking set.  Could you please look into adding a 6u space bar?  The Danger Zone had one so it's not unprecedented for SP/SA, especially with Massdrop's weight behind this.

Yeah I definitely would have liked to see it in 1-1-2-3-4-3...I was thinking about picking up a set with aurebesh, and then picking up another set of standard alphas to mix and match with SA Dasher (blue and orange are my company colors and I think those would juxtapose quite nicely, especially with the light blue in there)

Anyways, I have never owned an R3 keyset so I can't say, but I can tell you that I've avoided purchasing them thus far, if that means anything.

I guess I see why a flat profile might be chosen because of the non-standard alphas, uniform gives it a "sci-fi" look...but with how bright this keyset is going to be with the orange, I feel like a super bright keyset would look a little better sculpted. Don't ask me why, I just have a feeling it would.

Then again, I've never used R3 so what do I know?

Sounds like more pro's than con's to me.  :p

R3 is good.  I like the 'retro' look of SA but I don't really care for sculpted.  There are a ton of sculpted sets out and that are in progress already and I know there are plenty of people like me who enjoy R3.  Ultimately, I'm not going to design/get a set made that I wont enjoy.
