A monochrome idea put forward by Dede, this is a mockup.

Hi Everyone,

This is an interest check for a new deskmat called Fever Dreams. The deskmat depicts a vivid series of events in a comic like pattern. Each panel is a separate piece of art and can be viewed independently and in any order. Each of these designs has been drawn by the same artist and pieced together perfectly to create a deskmat we are extremely proud of.

The artist is a wonderful friend of ours who has a very unique art style. His instagram is : HERE (https://www.instagram.com/harrisonearl).

SPECS

- 900mm x 400mm x 4mm

Currently the plan is to make two versions of deskmats. One in full colour and another in monochrome. These will both be made with polyester.

There is also the potential that the mats will be made with Jacquard material, which is commonly used for "rough" deskmats and is a different fabric on top. The MOQ on this is a lot higher, but if there is sufficient interest - they may also be made.

TO DO

- Confirm manufacturer - samples have been ordered from 2 other manufacturers - one uses recycled car tyre rubber which I am excited to use if it fits the part.
- One sample of the deskmat made from the Jacquard material has also been ordered - pictures will be updated shortly
- Adjust design based on interest discussion
- Order production run

This is my picky side but I think you would benefit from doing a good photo session on these deskmats to get the most out of Harrison's art (which is top-notch). As a suggestion, I would love to see the monochrome version with a more sober colorway so that it can be combined with most keyboard colors out there. Maybe gray on black, or even white on black.

Anyway, excellent work, I'll keep an eye on the GB.

Yeah, rough mats have such a high MOQ but hopefully can get there on this. You're totally right, I appreciate the mockup you sent, I'll add it into the IC and let others choose from the two.

I just received the rough version and I'm not super happy with it, it looks grainy. I'll hopefully get some pictures up shortly. Going to relay that to the manufacturer and see what they say.

Post by: 0ldMate on Mon, 01 August 2022, 20:56:18: Production has been completed, the units are being shipped out to vendors currently. Rough and smooth mats were offered between both the coloured version and Mono 2. Looking forward to seeing these mats out and about :)
