Opinions on Imsto keycaps and their website?
« on: Tue, 06 December 2016, 07:11:16 »
Just thinking of buying from Imsto.

He didn't reply to PM so I am wondering if anyone here has experience buying from his website.

Are they down? how long do they take to send something? Are they reliable?

Anybody have reviews of their stuff to share?

I don't have reviews but I bought either a blank PBT cherry profile set and a custom dyesub keycap. My experience is overall very positive. It took three weeks to deliver, including custom clearance.

IMSTO PBT was the standard in thick PBT for a long time, and I often compare PBT sets to IMSTO as well.

He's tradtionally hard to reach, and I've heard that he can take up to a month to ship a package if he's dealing with a high order volume.

IMSTO is a known dyesub specialist. Some say his dyesubs are sharper than Gateron (EnjoyPBT)

Judge for yourself with these macro shots in another thread https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=74405.msg2024804#msg2024804

I have his gateron and bsp RGB mods and could not be happier. His latest cherry replica beige buy has been going on for many months due to him moving into a new flat without computer access, trouble with contacting Gateron for buying certain kits and he does not communicate that often. We are always wondering what the next move is going to be.

Originative has just finished their Modern Beige OCO buy and are looking to do a round 2 pretty soon, so I suggest checking them out.

I bought a set of space bars several months ago, with no issues whatsoever. Delivery time was long and communication very scarce, but everything was delivered well in the end.

What about their custom dyesub service? It says $3.90 per keycap. I wonder what is the best resolution for their printing

He's been AFK for a few months. Wait until the end of summer, when he's traditionally less busy to try and reach out to him.
