As for the Shift, I forgot about those. Those would be great for people who had FC660m/Clueboards, but since only one responded not sure how high the demand is. Still, I wouldn't mind paying for it depending on the cost; this way I'll have it if I ever decide to get an MX Clueboard.

Well if thats the case, then a refill on the N9 spacebars would be nice. I am guessing those go quicker since there have been so many runs of dolch along with the OG sets that need bars replaced on them (though a 7x 1.25u mods dolch conversion kit would be nice as well... hmm..).
As for the blue spacebars for this set, it would make more sense to serve them up as an a la carte item, as I don't know how many people like the chinstrap look. Having them separate could get some statistics on the ratio of people preferring a look like that.

Is there any way to fit in a 1.75u shift with text as well? Almost every other GMK set that primarily uses text modifiers includes the short right shift with text. It's going to look awfully unbalanced to have icon & text on the left shift but not the right. Especially since Fn is going to be textless. I can live with blank Fn but in combination with no shift text on the right side, it's going to look odd.
I'm honestly not very interested in the other keys since I'm fine with an all caps bottom row. I'll be the only mod without text (R3 Control FTW)

No, the colors for Penumbra are custom whereas the space bars seem to be standard GMK colors.

I became a little nervous when I saw more recent pics in that the mods looked more black than blue. Not so in person. This is another case of Triumph Adler where the colors are impossible to capture on camera (though I'm sure some people will get really close). And the colors on the mods pop really well. Some may not like them becasue they'll compare them to SA, but I yet haven't seen an SA set which translated as well to GMK (save for maybe HyperFuse).
My only remaining concern is that the capitalized bottom row clashes with the rest of the kit, but that seems to be a non-issue with this IC.
And I for one love the Caps Lock icon caps. :p

Sadly, the additional kit will not have extra colors. I tried to go for something more unique, but it seems like many people have a lot of distaste for the caps and colors.

Don't forget about Carbon! That was excellently converted to GMK.

I'm interested to see what happens here, but it feels a little bit like the plan is, "just to redo nearly the entire set", alphas and all.

Penumbra hasn't shipped yet, but we're already working on an accent kit.
The goal is to bring 1800, 75%, an extra 2.25u shift, and some other keys.
R1: Delete, End, Pg Dn
R2: Pg Up
R3: Pg Dn, Barred F&J
R4: End, 2.25u Shift, 6u Spacebar, 6.25u Blue Spacebar, 7u Blue Spacebar, Blank 2.25u and 2.75u Shift
There are 2 options for Modifiers:
1. Lowercase Ctrl & Alt and Icons for Windows & Menu
2. Capitalized Esc, Backspace, Caps Lock, 1.75u Control, and Shifts
There's also the possible option of... 'Why not both?'
We are aiming this pack anywhere from ~$25-30 right now.
The goal is to minimize the costs and provide a universal kit to accommodate for a layout everyone is most comfortable with!

Definitely agree. Honestly I thought I would have a problem with the cream alphas (because I love the whites) but that ended up not being an issue. My biggest pet-peeve with the set is the mixed cap/lowercase font, symbols on Tab, caps lock, shift, enter and backspace and the spacing of lettering on modifiers. Even though the colors are a bit more vibrant than I expected, I'm ok with them.
If I were to change the set, I would center the words on modifiers (I don't like how Alt Super and Menu are left aligned) though I realize that Control is probably left aligned as well, it just happen to fill the whole keyspace. I would also get rid of all symbols on modifiers, the caps lock symbol kills me a bit. I would also center/capitalize all modifier keys.
I'm glad to see oco is running a group buy for new modifiers but that only makes this set more expensive:(. Oh well, guess I kind of have to get those now:)

Just got my set today, Sherryton- love it. Really looks good in person! Thanks for running the set ahead of the sale- as others have mentioned, it was fun to order last week, get it today. :thumb:
In for the Accent Kit, of course... but just wondering, looks like we're losing some of the colorfulness on the bottom row modifier text. Is that unavoidable to keep cost reasonable? I think the colors are one of the charms to the set- give it a little funkyness that I like so I would be bummed to have to choose between colorful but all caps vs. better text uniformity but single color for all keys.
EDIT: too slow on the posting... asked and answered. However, it was just the capitalization that most seemed not to like, right? The colors are great IMO! I think that may make me less likely to buy the accent set and just live with the capitalized keys/ up my OCD medication (beer).

I really liked the colored mods - Just didn't like the fact that they were capitalized as they were jarring with the other ones being CamelCased. I'd really like that fixed, i.e. CamelCased colored mods for the bottom row to go with the colored mods on the other row. That said, I'm in either way- just have to go back to all white, I guess, which is a shame.
Maybe a real poll of the people who actually put their money where their mouth is and bought it? Or just a reconsideration in a poll in this IC?

Totally agree! Colored mods make this set interesting... loses a lot of zip with white, IMO, though like everything, I'm sure plenty will prefer that way. I thought it was just the caps too- that's my only issue, though I would live with caps over giving up the colors.

That's actually the color of Honeywell. Check out this thread. I was using this color for Penumbra, and I realized that Honeywell actually most resembles this color. I'm really glad we chosed it :)
I feel like we should go with a different white for solarized because it would just be a copy of Honeywell alphas. CP is the closest color to the solarized alpha though.

Yeah, same. :-[ It's interesting... looks like some yes/ some no. In Hydro the pipe on grey key is solid, the white pipe is broken. Meh, I think I'm probably ok with it too. If it hasn't bothered me yet...

In the end of the day it's always convenient to have all the choices to make everyone happy but then again this will add a significant amount to the set.
If we are voting to have either only colored versus white text bottom row, I'd go with white. If enough people can pay up, both are okay as well.

It's possible other sets have it unbroken but all my sets look like the picture you posted. I have R1 Hyperfuse and TA.
I wonder if it's a difference between the full-sized and the 1U. The 1U on mine have it solid, but I remember seeing it broken on the standard sized - have to check when I get home.

I'm not sure if you're following correctly.
Sherry had GMK produce full sets of Penumbra, and they are readily available on his site (linked above). Rather than running a GB, sherry opted for paying up front for the full sets, and offering them for sale once he had them in stock.
What this is is an IC to add a handful of keys to make the existing GMK Penumbra set more compatible with other boards, as well as addressing the main concern people had with the set, which was the uppercase bottom row.
People also suggested doing a kit (still not sure if it's separate or all part of one massive child kit) of alternate alphas, which is what the original SA Penumbra has (a set of yellow alphas and a set of white alphas).

I’m very disappointed that the gray mods didn’t make it, it really would have saved this set for me. The yellow, pink, and purple don’t even look similar to the corresponding tones in the Solarized palette — they look like something you’d see in one of those half baked sets everybody forgets. And they definitely clash with the navy modifier color.
I hope one day someone can get CTRL+ALT’s blessing for *yet another* expansion kit (that should have been unnecessary in the first place), because SCREAMING mods are equally unsatisfactory.

To each their own I guess but aside from the purple I think they look quite close to the solarized colorway. IMO they match quite well (again, except for purple).
Are you basing your opinions on the renders? Have your seen the actual caps?

It's pretty sweet how polarizing this set has become. I'm in agreement with you here, i think it's very cool. I'm going forward with putting this in a 60% wooden case with a revC (green) GH60 board. I'm having a polycarb clear plate cut for it so you can see the green peeking out.

Also shouldn't the bottom row with like, normal legends be all white at least? I feel the white legends are a much safer bet than the bright and borderline obnoxious colours all over the bottom row like shown in the GMK render
There was a lot of commotion over that, but the final vote was to keep it with colors.

I haven't forgotten about this, but I have a lot going on.
SA sets just arrived, so we will be shipping that out the whole week, and I have to go to an expo the week after. The group buy will most likely be started 2nd week of June.

GMK is pretty relibably with a 4 month lead time. If the GB was paid for on say, June 28th it'd probably get here end of Oct / early Nov

I am noticing too late that the 1.25u Fn R4 cap has had its legend color changed from white to blue. This might break the color balance of accented legends as the bottom row does not have any caps with blue legends.
