in my opinion the easiest case to make would be with layers. so you dont need a whole block of steel, which is expensive...i have some ideas but no tools.

But even with all that scrap, it's still cheaper than mill time
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)
