Sixty compared them to blues. Because for me, blues sound like cracking egg-shells and because of Sixty's description of the whites I sayd they must then sould like cracking mushrooms. I don't have any idea how they feel ...

Oooh intrigued by how the white switches would feel and sound. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but the green switches have been described as stiffer blues. That right?

I put in an order for 110 of the whites. I've never tried blues, but I'm sure this'll be good, too.
Now to get some decent blank clear keycaps for them.

I plan to make the extras into keychains.

Also I'm guessing these are not plate mounted versions, or am I wrong?

I've already ordered switches in the Phantom GB. If I want to order more of the same types of switches, do I need to message Phantom with the total number of switches (Phantom GB + additions) or just the additions?

Autolyze: Send the updated amount. Like if you want to change from 100 to 110 (like I did) just say:
MXWHITE 110

I think I'm going to do a mix-switched phantom, like what they do on those ducky 'boards. I don't know if having MX white, clear, and green will be that much a difference, though.

So what's the difference (besides colour) between these and greens?

'cause if it's nothing, I think I'll have greens for the alphanumeric, and whites for the modifiers (and everything else), just for looks.

And are dark greys different from the grey switches used in spacebars?

What exactly are the differences between the PCB and non-PCB versions? I'm just interested in replacing some existing switches on a PCB mounted keyboard by replacing the stem, spring and it seems like maybe the top half of the housing for these locking ones as they look different.

The PCB version has 2 plastic legs/pins on the bottom, for additional stability. It expects 2 extra holes in the PCB. These plastic pins can be easily cut off if you want to convert the switch to a non-PCB mount.

you can implement function layer locking in software (a la the poker), so you don't strictly need a locking switch if that's all you want.

By they way, Dox posted pics of the switch starting here:
http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?23453-Ordering-from-onlinecomponents&p=445194&viewfull=1#post445194
and he is also saying the switch parts (except for the spring) are not interchangable, so it looks like you will not be able to just install the switch housing top and stem; you'll have to desolder an existing switch if you want to replace it with a latching one.

The lock mechanism is part of the switch housing, right?  So it's not possible to mod a regular switch to become a lock switch?

Ah, you added the lockable [strike]buttons[/strike] switches! I was going to contact you with regards to this but it seems I didn't have to. I love you for this! :) I'll order 40 of the plate mountable switches, and 5 of the pcb ones. Would order more if I could, but you're already going to get 95% of the money in my bank account and I can't spare the rest. Haha, the sad part is that that's actually true...

Also, I'm a bit confused about this:

MXGREY        MX1A-D1NN      0.6
MXDARKGREY MX1A-D1NN      0.9*

The manufacturer's number is the same, but the ordering name you gave is different and the price is different. I tried to order some from Phantom before but it either got ignored, or, what I assumed, it got merged with MXGREY because they're the same.
