Deck Hassium and Francium... When?
« on: Mon, 11 November 2013, 19:00:39 »
Hello,

Subject says it all. Can't wait to see when these two keyboards will hit North America.
Deck's new Full size and TKL backlit with improved PBT Keycaps and small footprint.

TG4 will get back to me shortly... I'm not holding my breath.

Performance-PC had no idea what I was talking about.

What about you? Do you have anything good news for us?

MK may have a NDA at the moment preventing them from disclosing anything.

Ok then why not saying so... At least I wouldn't feel ignored.

I have no idea if this is the case, but there are NDAs out there that state you can't state that you're under NDA.

Maddening for all parties, but if red tape is being thrown into the mix, don't make any assumptions about what corporations will ask of their vendors / customers.

I asked directly and the answer I got had nothing to do with NDA or other glamor reasons.

Deck is not a big seller and the new products are just more of the same already available on the market.

Oh well, looks like we are too few to value PBT keycaps on a backlit.

I guess if there is a demand  for it, there will be an offer. Until then, we will have to look elsewhere.

For those who might not have seen it: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50936.0
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Don't get us wrong, if there is enough demand for these boards, we could consider carrying them. So, if you're excited about these 'boards then, by all means sound off...let's hear it... :thumb:

Deck had 'sort of' reached out to begin talks about distribution on their new lineup and then decided to keep distribution in-house.

We're trying to work out something, but for now I think you can find their new stuff on Amazon.

Deck is lazy as ****.  I told their marketing person two weeks ago that the Amazon link on their website doesn't work - and it's still not fixed.

Not available at MechanicalKeyboards.com?  NO SALE.

Dunno who's managing their site but it is not getting proper parental attention. Maybe we should call child services.
