Updates:
-Due to some complications, I am only able to produce the light alpha base kit. For people who are a fan of the dark alphas no worries, there will be a round two of GMK Retrocast if this one does well.

-After many thoughts and info gathered I have decided not to include NorDe kit for the first run of GMK Retrocast. If in the future there will be another run, I will consider adding a NorDe kit.
-The red and yellow has been changed from Pantone to RAL for easy color matching.

That greenish blueish color is sublime. If you make a good 40s/ortho support kit I will be unable to resist this.

Arguably, the novelties kit offers ortho support. Can you offer the B novelty in R4 to be used as a replacement for the actual B alpha? Also, I don’t see spacebars kit for split spacebar support in the blue/green colors (2/2.25/2.75). I personally am not a big fan of the accent colors as spacebars (to each his own!).

Everything looks great, I would replace the extra R2 Pipe key with a tab key in the light mode kit! So you can use both alpha kits on two different boards.

I'll be honest. I grew up with the cyan Gameboy Color. My first game Donkey Kong Land 2. I loved it so much. So I was expecting the cyan and the black border of the screen and the black buttons and the red battery indicator...but that's not the direction you took.

It is a great color scheme. it just doesn't scream Gameboy to me outside the novelties.

Hmm that is true, can’t deny the added expense.
Though I do hope a kit like that in Sumi is considered but price is important. For example in my case for the UT47.2 I’d need one more 1.25u R3 but I’m pretty sure I’m in the minority lol D:

40s kit even worse now, too many extra keys, too many accents, no bars, forced to buy spacebar kit, 40s kit and have a bunch of duplicate 1u blanks. the bars are the cheapest part of the kit, removing them and adding other keys doesnt make sense to me.

Right now I'm trying to make the base kit affordable while also being inclusive, if I make an extension kit I'll make sure to add an F13 key, if you are using like a tkc 1800 and wanted an F13 maybe it's possible to use the little BMO key I added. Thanks for the feedback.

I am aware of those errors, I'm planing to finalize the kits by the end of this week and I will try my best to deliver satisfying results.

I'm currently not planing to perfectly color match the base color with the cyan Gameboy, my set is more greener and darker. I'm more focused on the overall style and theme, but I'm getting a cyan gameboy just to make an album comparing the colors, stay tuned for that.

Consider using Caps instead of Caps↲Lock for the stepped key, in order to keep all of the legends in the set single-line.

You may also want to use System or Super instead of Code. They fit in with the Gameboy theme a bit better, imo, and also make more sense in and of themselves as OS key legends.

I just have two questions;

Firstly Iso support is crossed off, does that mean its in the works or you're not adding it?

Secondly, are the two original desk mats going to be available? As I personally prefer the original two you had shown, as I feel they fit better with the light blue on blue colourway.

Didn't mean to cross out the iso support, all kittings are still in the works.
For the desk mats the 2 og deskmats will come back I just have to change the backgrounds to match the recent deskmats.

100% down for this set! love the classic console colors, I grew up on a gameboy and love B-MO, so this is the thing for sure. one thing I would love to see would be 2.25u and 2.75 space in the base kit, I know I might be in the minority, but Lux did this and I didn't have to get other sets to outfit Rukia. either way I am all in for the base and novelties, and maybe the forties or the accents. Well done!

Just my 2c: your initial vision was much better. Looked so good at the beginning, now it is "one of these GMK" sets.

The R4 1u \| key in base should be alpha-colored.

Why is there an alpha-colored Return key? I hope this is a mistake and not on purpose.

The 1.75u spacebar in the Batteries kit should be changed to 1.25u. 1.75u is used only on very few 40% keyboards, so it shouldn't be in the big spacebars kit as it's already included in Cartridges. On the other hand, 1.25u is useful for many layouts, including standard split 6.25u spacebar (2.75u+1.25u+2.25u), and Alice and other ergo boards (2u+1.25u), so it would make sense for it to be in this kit.

Same. I have a bunch of sets bookmarked and recently revisited this thread thinking I bookmarked the wrong IC. The dark set is what really made it for me, sorry to see they won't be worked in. Maybe next time. Wishing you success.

In addition to this, the R1 1u \| key that used to (correctly) be alpha-colored, is now mod-colored. So it seems that there has been a misunderstanding. Perhaps I should have emphasized that R4 is the ZXCV row, not the number row.

Either way, please see if you can address these issues before the GB starts. If not all four, then at least the ones regarding the \| keys, as those wouldn't require getting a re-quote from GMK. The set isn't fully usable for ISO users if the R4 pipe key is mod-colored, nor is it usable for most split backspace users if the R1 pipe key is mod-colored.

Edit: Please don't take this the wrong way — I'm not in any way pointing out these mistakes to bash on the set, or anything like that... I just want to see the kitting be the best it possibly can when this set hits GB, in order to hopefully attract as many buyers as possible. This is the case with all keyset projects that I comment on.

These modifications do not seem to appear in the final kits you have updated : (

Edit — to clarify (cf. image attached herein):
1. The R1 1u Pipe key would be alpha color
2. There would need to be a second R4 1u Alt for OG HHKB bottom row
3. The Start and Select keys would also need to be in R4 1.5u for OG HHKB bottom row

Is this still feasible or are kits now set in stone ?

GMK cafe did this. It did fine, but plenty of sets have sold more.

Estimated production time is 34 weeks from GB close. Add time for shipping to vendors then to you after.
