Lenovo blue enter keys
« on: Tue, 28 February 2012, 23:48:21 »
Hi guys,

New to the forums.  Was wondering if anybody has made a faux Lenovo blue enter key for cherry mx switches?

I found a thread from early last year but it seems it fell through.

The key I reference is this:

Easiest thing to do would be get one from WASD.
Thats a pretty cool idea, actually.
Current collection:
Filco Majestouch 104-Key, w/ MX Browns
IBM Model M 52G9700
Leopold FC200R, "white" w/ MX Clears
Ducky DK9008S \'Shining\', white backlit w/ MX Blues
Cherry G80-3494(LCYUS-2), w/ MX Reds for Portal Mod

Not mine, but I\'ve got access to:
Filco Majestouch Linear R Limited Edition, w/ MX Reds
Filco Majestouch 2 \'Ninja\' Tenkeyless, w/ MX Blues
Leopold FC500R, w/ MX Browns

I don't think WASD has that particular blue though.  I think the problem last time was that they couldn't figure out which SP colour would match exactly.

Yeah, I see your problem.
It doesn't really look like the colour I want for my Portal keyboard either, but I'm just gunna deal with it.
Don't have much choice really, without going down the massive-effort-road into super-expensive-town.

I was wondering the same thing. I love my thinkpad keyboard and it would be awesome to have an IBM/Lenovo blue enter key!

R3 used color BFR for the blue's and it seemed way to dark. I'm actually surprised it shows up that blue in the picture, as on my board it was basically the same color as the R3 keys.

Could you take a closer shot?  But it definitely looks good.  My girlfriend has recently been given a lenovo thinkpad from work so I can take better pics to show how dark the blue is.

Can you take some photos to show how dark yours look?  I took at look at the SP samples and was leaning towards BFR also.  Reptiles pic seems a spot on match otherwise.

Round 3 key on the left next to a lenovo enter from a sk-8825 which is a regular rubber dome board. The SP key looks a little darker but not by much.

with the above in consideration, would BM be a better match than BFR from this picture?

I don't have mine anymore as I sold it and this is the only crappy iphone picture I still have of it. I thought I had a picture of it sitting next to the Enter on my T61p, but cannot find that. But it was much darker than the laptop itself's key in my opinion
