Hi, first time designing a keyset, the main idea there was to create something kinda minimalist but very singular. Thereby I drew 'curves based' icons, I wanted to make something fresh with round shapes.
Still, in this spirit of simplicity, I used pastel Pantone® Colors in order to add a sweet color touch and have a smooth contrast with the rest of the keyset.
I also chose a simple and rounded font called 'moon' for the legends, but I had to draw some characters in particular. No copyright issue here since I bought it.
It should be PBT Dye-Sub.
Huge thanks to Oblotzky for his help and the renders he made. He made everything possible!
Also thanks to David from Candykeys who helped me a lot to make the set become reality.

Kinda fun fact since it has now been removed… My set was copied a few days after the initial Reddit and GH threads by a Chinese manufacturer.
They basically ripped the jpeg of my Planck render. You can see it was in the very early stage of the project since it has one "mistake" I made: Capslock icon instead of Shift.

DSA Milkshake is by far my favorite out of all of these. I love the font and minimalistic style it provides, and something about it is just so refreshing (Oblotzky does some hella fine renders). As u/Baron mentioned, I really think this minimalistic style works really well with 40% keyboards, and I'll definitely pick up alphas, ortho, werido, and 40s kit when this becomes available.
one criticism, which is of course my personal opinion, while I like the minimalistic mod symbols, I think they look rather "lonely" on keys >2u. There just seems to be a bit too much blank space on the larger keys.
nonetheless, I really do like this set A LOT and am looking forward to its drop.

Thing is mate realistically we struggle to hit moq for iso as it is if it's split from a main 'base set'. The only way it's possible to even come close for a norde kit is if it's on massdrop and even then it's tight =S. I realise this is very easy for me to say as the default iso option given in buys is almost always UK, conveniently for myself.

Though kit MOQ is not as high on SP kits as they are on GMK kits from what I understand. But yes, MOQ is a good point even with SP. Not sure about XDA manufacturers.

I like this set; the curved icons are refreshing. It would be nice if the Forty Color came with spacebars or the spacebars in Forty were split off, but that's not a big deal. As far as DSA vs XDA, I'm partial to XDA,Changed my mind on this; XDA or bust. :Dbut I like both and would prefer whichever ends up cheaper

Indeed some interesting stuff here. The thing is, it has to to fit with the other icons, so novelties should have the same stroke. So I can’t make detailed design, it has to be minimalist. And DSA Ice Cream already has some Ice and stuff novelties :rolleyes:

That's fantastic! Nice color coordination, and attention to detail right there. I think those last two milk-themed ones are brilliant, and my favorites, but I really do like them all.
I actually think a top row of all b&w novelties like that would look so nice on an all b&w board. Not trying to add to the set, but those last two caps look so nice it made that image pop into my head.

To be honest I’m slightly confused by the white (alpha colored) caps in the otherwise colorful f-row tho.
The white milky caps look awesome, but I just feel like it looks inconsistent in the render

This looks really nice. I like the colors a lot. Although part of me does wish I could buy 6 sets of the novelties just so I could put nothing but white milkshake and milk bottle caps across the top of an all white cap board. Maybe that's weird, or maybe I just want to see the colors put together? I don't know. They all look great, I guess I'm just not sure how I'd use them yet.

Set looks great. If I had to nitpick, I don't like the consolidation of UK with Norde (I would prefer not to buy a huge ISO kit for the enter key when my plan would be to use the mono kit), and I prefer the original color mod kit only because I think I prefer green shifts. I do understand the justification for both though, and will buy those kits with no changes. I most appreciate you choosing the expanded Granite-style mono kit over the recently common ANSI-only style. Anyway, fantastic design. Looking forward to DSA or XDA.
Well, that is what I did months ago with an AZERTY layout: ISO enter (+ left Shift) + Granite mono-legends, and I have to admit that is works. But the thing is, the more kits I do, the more complicated it is to reach MOQs. Maybe I could make an ISO 2-pack.
IMO it's better to have one NorDeUk kit, what are your thoughts here guys?

Be sure to check them very carefully. The warping issue has not been reported solved, as far as I know. In the other hand XDA sets have never been found to be affected by anything similar. SP's sublimating process along with DSA thickness should factoring to produce the problem. In person, I just cannot tolerate the sinusoidal gaps between key rows. I sold the two Granite sets and multiple child subsets that I had, even when I really loved Matt's icons design and the color combination. The defect's visual is so ugly that makes even an extraordinary design to look like crap.

I have no preference where it comes to the profile itself but after having bought a few XDA Godspeed novelties I found the dye subbing a little fuzzy compared to DSA dye subbing from Signature Plastics which I found more crisp in comparison but I guess it's still not that a big a deal breaker for me though in either case.XDA Godspeed had this issue but XDA Canvas and Milestone were not fuzzy.

I like the looks of DSA sets as tons of pictures of DSA sets are floating around as it is more mass produced with SP constantly having them in stock. But after trying both XDA easily feels better than typing on DSA due to the larger surface area.
I don’t have any experience with both as I all my sets have been gmk this far.

I would be getting the mono kit so I don’t care either way, but if you do you should add the 6.25u space bar because that would actually permit me to skip the alphas.
Selfishly speaking I’d like to see the last 6 keys added so I don’t have to buy the other alpha kit to complete the set, plus I feel the regular alphas may look out of place when combining kits since the weirdo kit is mono legends as well.

I love them all, I genuinely think each kit looks great, that being said,
If this set DOESN'T go through Massdrop, you might have a REALLY hard time making MOQ's for each kit, to a point where you will be selling at the bare minimum MOQ which means higher prices which in turn may shoo away many of the people who say they were in for said kits.
Just be careful to not throw provide TOO many alternate/weirdo options, as not having the reach of massdrop can really hamper hitting MOQ

Waow thanks! Well I can’t tell how the transition from Cherry to DSA will be for you. I made it and had no issues, I even find the top edge better for my thin fingers :) but it’s just my opinion/feeling

The alphas (mono) and numerics (mono) are variously available in both ‘normal’ and ‘weirdo’; but it looks like I won't be able to build a set with visible symbols that matches the ‘weirdos.’ (Sucks; because as fast as my Colemak typing is, I can never remember where the damn symbols are on the number-row without looking. This might be a dealbreaker for me, because the ‘weirdos’ really sell the set!)

I designed the weirdo characters with the same stroke thickness as the regular font, so it'll match perfectly together don't worry. Even the Icon modifiers got that same thickness!
The thing is, I can't basically make 2 versions of each kit. Even there, I have many kits…

One question: if you're still able to make changes to the run, could you add a 1U caps lock key to the ortho kit (or specialties/forties)? I'm planning on doing either a custom layout XD75 or a custom 5x13 ortho, but that key doesn't seem to exist in any of the sets, and since the ortho set seems to be tailored to the Planck/Preonic that key is absent.
Anyways, love the set. Been following it for a while. Definitely going to be picking it up.
