Btw, I like White on black and white on red for the Star wars keycaps, but I think Red on black would look better for the Rebel logo.

Also, the detail involved in the Imperial logo is pretty damn high, so a doubleshot of that might not turn out good at all.

They don't have an SVG for either of the starwars yet anyways so I am sending that out today to get a feasibility.

I was just informed by Melissa that unless we modify the Starwars decals she will not make them for us; George Lucas sent a helicopter to SP today to kill off half the staff for even considering it. Whoever desperately wants the Starwars keys to be made will have to modify the SVG's to something a little different and then I will try to convince Melissa to do it (it was her idea in the first place).

If we cannot get the Starwars caps thats fine; this buy was based on the premise of not having them in the first place.

Expect orders to be opened up by about Monday of next week.

Do you have the SVGs? I can try to play around it 2morrow (it's 2am atm, I just got back from ice hockey and I got a lecture 2morrow) and try to edit them a bit. I may have to butcher quite a bit so Mr.Lucas doesn't force choke me to death, but i'll try = ). Otherwise I'll make brand new SVGs from the png. @_@ I wonder how this will end up...

The SVG is on the Wikipedia page for both of the sections (Rebel Alliance and Empire). If you cannot find them on your own I can always email them to you if you send me an email in PM.

I think i'm smart enough to get it from wikipedia myself! = P (But maybe I've forgotten how to use the internet...doing a university degree makes you so smart in what you specialize in that you forget even what 1+1 is).

All university did for me was make me good at articulating an argument in paragraph form.

All uni did for me is teach me how to do some fancy schmancy maths stuff related to some physics stuff, so I can make electrical circuits and stuff. Which I'll prob forget once I graduate and never use again in my life.

I'd see if you could try and do a death star logo... obviously with no shading it'd be just some sort of cutout, but if you could do the second one that is still under construction, then that would work.

Anyway. Having a look our Empire emblem. There are some differences, but I dont' know if you can pass it off as different.

Left one is ours, Right one is Wiki's

As you can see i've circled two regions.

The bit joining the outer ring to the inner ring. Also, the Peg's (or w/e you want to call them) sticking out of the center's circle are kinda slice-of-pie-shape where as the one in the wiki is a rectangle.

EDIT: OK as you can see i'm not a HUGE fan and Im not very knowledgable, but the one we have is just annother proper emblem...WTF...=='' I should just go sleep and try to do stuff 2morrow. Sleep deprived me doens't work well.

Well it's a variation of some the flag.. if you look up galactic empire. It's "The first flag of the galactic empire".

Right, that's the Galactic Republic. It's more Old Republic than it is the Galactic Empire that we're interested in.

So while you're avoiding similarities to the Galactic Republic, you still have a dead-on Galactic Empire Insignia. They're both pretty much Lucas property.

I saw posts about people wanting to try altering the original submissions--I was just trying to make it easier. This would mean that the Star Wars keys are also getting pulled from Group Buy 4?

Yea; unfortunately because of SP usage policies we cannot use it because of its registered status. I fear that in order to create a 'Starwars Keycap' we would have to create a design too unlike the actual movie's emblems.

Don't we know any Chinese key makers who don't give a **** about infringement? Or maybe someone could send an email to the Lucas people and suggest that there exists yet another way to squeeze more money out of the brand, and they'll start making and selling their own key caps. I'll buy them from that tubby ***** if I have too.
