I got my Lootkey today.  I know the packaging has been discussed already but it really is crazy good, and this was just a giveaway!

Once I had extracted the inner box from the padding I was greeted by this

And that was great as I knew what was inside - my first choice!  Open the box, untie the bag, extract and open the zip lock, and finally he is free!  Looks pretty please about it too :))

This pic does the colour no justice, it's a cross between salmon and a highlighter - seriously bright!

Then just before I headed out the door I was handed a box with this in the corner.

Better pics to follow in the appropriate places :)

I think it's mostly carving/ engraving tools plus some well placed dyes and stains. The end result is perfect, I keep just pausing to look at the rest. I don't think I've ever liked a GH purchase more.

Congratulations!  Find of the year!!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I think it's mostly carving/ engraving tools plus some well placed dyes and stains. The end result is perfect, I keep just pausing to look at the rest. I don't think I've ever liked a GH purchase more.

People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done
