i like the 2nd from left if u decrease the length like not making the round shape on top of the caps

Yeah, pushing the body of the Chain Chomp further down onto the cap would make it a must have design for me.
A bunch of stuff. Someone teach me how to properly solder.

Been working on something else while I keep working on the topre Bonk.

The bubs are real there on the minty/celets ones. Fortunately for me I'm only using them as tests.

So funny that you guys like them so much, I was actually trying to do a multi shot, you know with the distinct layers...

Moar work for me.

They did turn out alright for a failure though, and they have a matching bonk!

I use some of those dental tools you can find on ebay, then I have a variety of sanding devices for after I bake the initial sculpt.

So more experiments with mods

These look cool when they aren't on a board, but I think they are a bit overwhelming once they are there. Oh well, just an experiment.

And more importantly, getting closer on the topre base

Still not quite there, but much much better and loving the thick walls too.

Are the topre stems hard to get to fit properly?

Do the castings from the original topre caps not replicate the stem in the same way?

They fit fine if you just take a cast of a regular cap, but the difference between thermoplastic and smoothcast liquidplastic is noticeable. The stem ends up being a little less sturdy because its thinner.

This is why you'll see reinforced stems from artisan makers, it just makes the whole thing much more solid and easier to deal with.

That makes sense, casting resin probably is more brittle as well, with less flex Im assuming...  Im putting in an order with smooth on so I guess Ill see for myself soon enough lol.

Not really worried about the bubbles, that I can deal with when I'm not pouring at 3 am.

Fresh Topre stem

Oh hai

Whaley McWhaleface still needs more work, but I was super excited to get er cast and see how it looked.

I like the lower profile, I think if you can clean up the sides to better differentiate the flat walls of the cap from the whale it would be more distinguishable.

Progress looking good!

So the red and purple ones are the newer slimmer profile. The brown is the original. We've been tossing around the name in the Seattle r/mk meetup slack of Regina.

I actually broke the master when I pulled it out of the mold, so I've been using the red one as the 'new master' and refining that one.

Finally have enough torpe bonks to make new molds. I'll be pouring my first topre mold tonight.
