I am at Big Ears which is the greatest festival in the world.

I looked this festival up when I first saw your post. Looks really cool. How did you like it? What was your favorite part?

This song has been stuck in my head today. Its explicit.

Little Dark Age is good too

At work I mentioned that I was going, and a couple of the guys asked who would be there. I realized that there was pretty much nobody in the whole lineup that they had even heard of, except perhaps Medeski, Martin, and Wood. The festival pretty much revolves around jazz, modern classical, and avant-garde music, although there are always "folk-esque" people there like Rhiannon Giddens, Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn. In years past there was a good deal more rock but that is fading away.

The high points for me were probably Anoushka Shankar's quartet, Julia Wolfe's "Anthracite Fields", and solo performances by Johnny Gandelsman (violin) and Evan Parker (soprano saxophone) in a small cathedral. There is always far more available than is possible to see.

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

To be honest, I would have only recognized Anoushka Shankar, because of her father. Very cool though and the venue is a big part of the experience. Sounds like it was awesome

I've also spent most of the morning listening to Hindustani Classical thanks to you  :)) Its really cool that they have certain styles for different times of the day

Not new but ♡
The whole album is magic.  I see it's already been linked here in 2016.

Also, cool video (different, even older, album):
. . .

Listening to a lot more of everything now that I'm finally happy with my headphone / portable set up.

no one can break down a beat and build it back up quite like them

Its been a while since I listened to any type of electronic music with regularity but I've recently found house/D&B helps to keep me focused and productive at work. I was reunited with "Assault" today as well. For a while, I had thought it was "Ammo" for some reason...  :p

ps my favorite from them is "Face To Face"  ;)

I guess I should cross-post this from DT, it rates:

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

What! "Pale Blue Eyes" was recorded a couple of years after John Cale and Nico had left the group.

1967 photo for a 1969 song.
