Hardware reprogram rubber dome
« on: Thu, 18 September 2014, 00:46:51 »
No not a topper. I've fallen in love with my DT-35 again since "quitting" mechanical keyboards. I'm gonna cut off the numberpad whenever I'm not busy so it'll feel more comfortable.

Only problem is I'm too used to having a custom layout! I don't know **** all about teensying things or custom controllers... and I hate software remapping keys. So I was wondering, how do you hardware remap keys on pretty much a standard rubber dome ? I read somewhere that teensy doesn't support USB output or w/e? Any other options?

All hail the DT-35

@CPTBadAss GB for custom controller?

Cutting up the matrix is impractical, so your best option would be to give hasu's beta usb-to-usb converter a shot, I think.

Not a custom controller, this would be a converter.

This is why everyone in DIY loves mechanical keyboards: they are much easier to mod.

Hail Hydra DT-35. I would be down for this for a GB ha.

 I think what dorkvader is suggesting is using the TMK software which should support remapping this keyboard. Then you could make a little box like fohat.digs has for his teensy on the F122.

I see, I'm way too used to modding mechs myself now. Hasu to the rescue again it seems!

I haven't tried tmk firmware ever, and usb-to-usb support is listed as "beta" so your mileage may vary.
