I haven't listened to it yet (and probably not until the weekend at the earliest), but from the spoilers I gather that congratulations are in order for BunnyLake.

Congratulations, sir :)

I hope everything goes well!

Actually one thing i forgot about but was super jelly off was Sent's time at Big Willow! It's nice to find out there is someone really into track cars!
It's not something I can afford to do, but I like to simulate it and when I can go Karting.

What's Willow like IRL? It's a pretty high speed track from playing it in GT, have you done any racing at all?? TELL US MOAR!

Willow is alright.  It's not my favorite track but a lot of my friends enjoy it.  Like you said, it's high speed and for inexperienced drivers, that can be a major issue.  Knowing your braking points and which lines you need to take are pretty crucial.  Thankfully the runoffs are  pretty big but the gravel is god awful.  Your car is going to hate you if you go off track, trust me.  If you want to get the best times here, you really need a balanced car and a tuned suspension along with plenty of track time.  If you ever do go...don't apex too early on the last turn in.  They'll be peeling you off of the wall.

And yeah, I've done plenty of events and taken my fair share of driving courses. :)  Definitely my first love.

Willow would be a bit of a trip for me haha but I would love to do a track day. And yeah the last corner is deceptive, I've raced it a bunch in GT6 (the closest I'll ever get) and it's very easy to run wide there.
My old man has a 911 so I'm trying to convince him to take it to brands hatch or silverstone for a trackday, but he's not too excited about having to spend a fair bit on new tires lol

GT6 is surprisingly accurate, lol.  Track days are tons of fun but you're right, tires are killer.  I wouldn't have done it so much if I didn't have a tire sponsorship with Nitto.  I chewed through NT05's like nobody's business and I was running 275/35/18's all around so the tires were definitely not cheap.  I really miss tracking but it's just way too expensive.  If you have a crazy car, the maintenance costs just ramp up ridiculously fast.

Oh nice you had a sponsor! That's awesome haha and yeah, there is a guy at our local rugby club who owns and manages a race team who run a GT3 spec Aston Martin and he kinda shied my dad off it haha he was saying that you can also rinse through breaks pretty easily too...

id love tho to be able to run an MX5 as a track car or something, not something super fast just something fun to drive and that dosn't cost the earth :P

How did you get a tire sponsor? Was it from winning/competing in events?? (Do you have any pics of your racing would love to see some!)

Well, I live in Southern California where the import scene got really big really fast.  I knew a lot of the right people at the right time.  For example, a lot of my friends had their cars and themselves as extras in the F&F movie series.  I regularly attended SEMA and all of the other shows.  People saw me at the track, people knew I was involved with others, it just sort of went from there.  Like I said, Cosworth rebuilt my motor for me because I knew people that worked there.  It's just really about what kind of connections you have, heh.  I probably have some photos around here somewhere but most of 'em are long gone.  I actually hate pictures and it was only because of GH that I bought my first camera. :))

Love the latest post! Going to show it to some of my friends who just don't "get" it. I got into mechs less than a year ago and I've gone through 7 boards and many more keysets. I'm now bummed that I ever sold any of it! Just ordered another Poker II to replace the one I sold months ago. I feel like I'll be happy with my current lineup for some time (HHKB pro 2, Ducky 9087, Poker II) but I won't be surprised if the bug hits again and I order more.

Will Tym be doing a reading? If so I'll wait and listen to it later.
I'm currently sick as a dog, so not right now, sorry Ray!

No worries! Get well soon!! :thumb:

Just wanted to thank JD for stepping in.  Like Bunny said, I had a rough week all around and it hasn't gotten much better so... :'(

Still, interview with another maker coming up as well as some video and a return to a text entry. :thumb:

Blog post about demik :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Nice post, Sent. Good things to think about, for sure.

By the way, I know I'm one of those with strong opinions. But what others don't realize is how much I self censor. If I wrote what I really think sometimes, I think people would be absolutely shocked. :D
