The time has finally come people! Its The Ave. Group Buy!!  The ultimate, sexy, cute, and powerful, ortholinear-battlestation!

So things have changed a lot in the past month or so. Here are some main points of note...

1st:

E-Yellow has been tossed out for options just due to its complicated nature and that I know sometimes it can come out looking more Orange than Yellow.  All of us are pretty tough and picky when it comes to colors and without a full and final prototype finished in E-Yellow, I just dont feel comfortable with going through with having it be availible and then people getting upset when it didn't turn out like they expected. No one likes that.

In its place, however, I have spoken with the factory and Sandblasted Polycarbonate will be subsituting the E-Yellow!

Which I know a lot of people wanted and Im excited to be able to offer it for the first big Ave GB!

2nd:
 
the second notable change is that now, every single base kit configuration will come with BOTH a full brass Plate set and a full FR4 (PCB Material) Plate Set!  Options are nice, but having them distributed all over the place isnt lol.  SO NOW YOU GET BOTH SON.

I thought it already comes with 2 plates, which you can pick one as ortho and one as staggered.  Unless you want both plates to be brass or FR-4?

This was quoted as expected delivery April 2020. It is now May and there hasn't been a single official update from the GB runner since last December other than a Discord link. Is it asking that much to post updates here if you're going to promote the GB here in the first place?

- Delayed till June, maybe later but June is the current estimate. (Mainly PC, but they all ship together)

PCBs:
- Done. Staggered PCBs had a Component Error so I’m manually fixing those (which is fine)

Plates:
- Brass Done. FR4 Plates (reorder) in production.

Packaging:
- Ordered. Still not complete

Hardware/Components:
- Done. Still need sorting. (Knobs are in production boat w/cases)


Sorry for the lack of updates here. Discord is the best place for GB updates in general. I see GH as more of a  “Interest/GB Showcase” forum. I’ll try and get everyone updates more frequently.

01/09/20 Plates, pcb's, components ordered, contacted factory for final invoice.

03/07/20 PCBs almost finished with production, knobs entered production, packaging sample on the way.

04/19/20  Delay on raw PC material within the factory. New Estimate June.

05/14/20 PCB's done (manually fixing staggered). Brass plates done, fr4 plate reorder in production. Packaging ordered. knobs finished.

07/14/20 (tons of rough stuff happening in royals life update) "trying to get all Ave orders shipped in 3-6 weeks. Firmware should be up for review tomorrow"

Learned about this saga today, and found this while browsing the web my apologies if this has been posted before:

There's a good chance this is the factory used to manufacture the keyboard The Ave as you can see in some of the pictures posted on the listing, which I will link below:









It looks like this same factory was used, at some point to create what appears to be a keyboard named Mech 27 TKL V1





So for those who got scammed in this, you can try your luck by getting in touch with the factory to try to learn if The Ave paid for the GB, or if they have any further leads, in any case this is a shame so good luck for those involved

I feel very badly for him - I know a lot of healthcare workers who also were overcome with stress/PTSD last year due to COVID.

The only thing that doesn't really jibe is the claim he hasn't had the time to finish the PCBs when he was unemployed for half a year. But depression is a complicated thing.

Due to component shortages, he may not have had the funds to finish the PCBs.

I knew this was gonna happen. I had been complained that there was no update even though there was a significant delay in the GMK Fro.Yo.

That seems to have been a sign of this situation.

At the time there was a madman defending it against the complaints I had raised about no updates, and in the end I was right.

Royal has already lost all credibility and should be kicked out even if GB is somehow completed.

Along with all other miscellaneous jalopies.

The fact this board was so unique and cool, makes it that much worst the GB runner disappeared. I mean if it was just another TKL or 75% with a knob, who cares? You may have a lost some cash, but you can still get what you were looking for somewhere else, not so with this thing.
