I thought of something, Since there are 13 keys before the backspace you might have to take a vote as to whether to have 7 Up Rainbows and 6 Down Rainbows, or the other way around. Some might like to start it with rainbow up and some might prefer rainbow down, and if all people receive the same amount, that doesn't allow for doing both options. Or maybe consider Backspace + 6 Up + 6 Down + their pick of up or down for the last one.

i assume the pricing would be kinda similar to the portal GB since the amount of keys are slightly similar.

@ 25 sets it was like $22, so maybe slighhjtly more than that... or is my assumption all wrong.

Just so everyone knows, being on the "I'm interested" list means nothing. At this point I'm going to be doing this group buy already, there isn't any way it isn't going to happen unless Melissa says the design is impossible to do, and I'm fairly confident it is possible. The list was just so everyone can see how quickly this idea has gathered interest. To give everyone an idea of the cost, it's going to cost $40 for the artwork fee, I'm assuming it won't be more than the Portal keyset, which was $40, plus the somewhat higher price of a dyesub. Not sure exactly, but since its much lower volumes we're probably looking at about $2-5 a keycap... I'm not sure though, so we'll see. I noticed that the discounts SP does for dyesubs are a lot less than those of doubleshots, so the spread will likely be much less significant than say the SC2 keycaps which themselves start out in between $4-5.

Going to go with white most likely, unless Melissa says it wouldn't be much more expensive to offer both. (Meaning the quantity discounts are so insignificant there pretty much isn't much reason to not offer both since it'll be relatively the same price.)

This sounds good but I think with 2 different rainbow (3 keys total) would give a the rainbow a better effect due to the spacing in between of each key having the same art on the entire rainbow won't be as nice, but this is just my opinion.

I was thinking about this too. Theoretically, the single key chaining would work, but would look better with one key that went "-_-" and another that was that flipped over the x-axis, so that the rainbow went up and down as opposed to just "-_-_-_-_-_-" and so on.

I mean i down for either, but if the price isn't that much higher with the 3rd key I think the difference in the overall outcome would look a _lot_ better because if the rainbow is just 1 legend and with the spacing in between the keys too it won't have that wavy look.

First one uses the same rainbow cap all the way, the other alternates between two caps, whose both placement of the individual rainbow stripes, and the texture as whole, is alternated.

I believe there could be made a couple of adjustments to make it look better, if you have any suggestions please let me know. You could also edit it yourself, of course ;3

Oh and, make sure you view them in full resolution, or the rainbow fukka's occasionally >.>

What I can come up with initially. Second one has some alternation in the position, while the first only alternate the three rainbow stripe-things on the individual keycaps.
I think the last one makes it look more as if the rainbow actually continues from each key.

Also, I'm unsure how far out dye-subbing can get on each key. Anybody want to let me know? I have a feeling it's pretty close on these last two <_<

I agree, we should prioritize 3 keys since I think they'd look better, but I was just offering up that it could be a 2 key set. Looking at those images, it looks awesome, but it'd be nice if the rainbow was just a smidgen more wavy in the final svg. The concept art looks great though, you really did capture the difference between the two ideas.

It won't be shipping with the portal set, since it's production will finish much later than the other GBs. I will likely be offering international shipping at the same rates as before, which everyone has found reasonable.

Edit: I suppose the full body height makes sense, but for some reason I like the look of the first one better, what do you guys think? Also watching the video, the rainbow doesn't really move all too much, so we'd be making changes to it regardless.

Edit 2: Also if we do it on blue we could include stars in the background.

If you look at this picture, the 3rd key goes fairly close to the edge, but I'm not sure how far exactly it can.

Ragnorock: What I would suggest is if its white key, do it with the large rainbow to cover basically the whole key, if its on a blue key then do it with the small rainbow and add stars, either one of those would look awesome
