Anybody have an estimate of what I could get for a two month old Filco MJ2 Ninja 104 w/ browns? I've done a detachable mini-usb mod to it if that matters for anything. No shine on the keycaps.

i'm wondering what these might be worth, i'm considering selling these old vintage cherry spherical doubleshots i pulled from a microscope keyboard i purchased a month or so ago.  they don't really look yellow, mostly off white, color is just a bit off.  they fit onto MX stems but they need to be sized down so they can actually recede into the switch housing, otherwise it would be a rather tenuous arrangement.  they are smaller than modern keycaps and all a uniform profile, but i suppose anyone who would be really interested in such a thing wouldn't mind.

the original board they came from had some terrible, gritty-feeling switches that really aren't worth anything beyond collector's value in my opinion.

Anybody have an estimate of what I could get for a two month old Filco MJ2 Ninja 104 w/ browns? I've done a detachable mini-usb mod to it if that matters for anything. No shine on the keycaps.

i purchased a (barely/not noticeably) used one on here for 100-110, some may view the detachable mod as a benefit or a drawback, so i couldn't say for sure on that one.  are you still able to use the regular filco cable?

$80 to $100.  I believe there is a 104 MJ2 with Blues on OCN right now at $85.  The mod could boost value to the right buyer, but that person may take awhile to find.  Perhaps throw a MiMic cable in with it to sell the detachable feature?

I grabbed this puppy from a Thrift store and I was wondering what it is worth. Not sure what the switch type is (it resembles a buckling spring) and it has some pretty interesting keys.

That's a Peerless switch, those white inserts aren't supposed to pop off when a cap is pulled. I have one, they're a distinct taste for sure. Not sure the price on a Vintage one like that...

Need a price check on a Leopold FC700R with reds. http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34706.msg642119#msg642119

Bought it over summer. Haven't really used it much as I've been using the RACE after it finally came in. Had the plastic cover over it whenever it wasn't in use. KBT caps are still mint. Any idea what it might be worth here seeing as (last I checked) it isn't available yet?

Willing to trade for a new Chrome mini metro if someone's got one lying around for sale :3

Around here, Razer is a hard sell, ebay would probably be better to get rid of it. If it's in good condition, you could get $60-70 probably.

Not sure on the price for those, but I know there is definitely one buyer for the yellowtop. You should contact rowdy, he has been looking for one for ages.

I'd say about $100ish, IMO. Maybe $110 since it's hard to find in America.
KBC Poker - Red switches. Noppoo Choc Mini - Black switches. Leopold FC700R (White) - Blue switches. Ducky YOTD - Brown switches. Razer BW - Blue switches and rusted.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Fried Rosewill? Well, since you can find these on sale for $65 shipped brand new, and the person who buys it will have to pay around $15 in shipping to get it from you, I would say around $20 plus shipping would be fair for a parts board. The pad printed ABS key caps aren't going to fetch much, if anything, so really the only value here is for the switches, which will have to be desoldered.

Did you spill something on it? Did the USB connector fall off?

Anyway, I'm interested if you think my value assessment is fair. You can PM me.

The USB connection failed so I tried to solder it back on, needless to say that didn't work and when I plugged it in the numlock LED was lit and the keyboard wasn't responsive. I asked some friends who were better with soldering and they said the connection looked fine, so I figure the controller might have been fried when I plugged it in. I just wanted to get rid of it so I could get another keyboard.

Don't know current on:

  • Wyse PC286 RJ12 keyboard (keycaps OR keyboard WITH rough diagrams for making USB adapter, in good shape)
  • Chicony / SMK doubleshot keycap set in white/black - Cherry MX 100% swap - pretty yellowed, but will clean up.
  • Focus FK2001 w/Alps Clones, minor damage (Esc keycap broken off,) Windows key version, all keys functional.
  • KeyTronic FlexPro with and without HotKey feature (with original manual, owned since new) - mostly shined on spacebar.
  • IBM InfoWindow 3151 RJ45 with non-LED PS/2 conversion performed
  • BNIB IBM Model M13 which I may have the original purchase order for as well.
  • IBM Model M13 - professionally restored by yours truly (no bolts, 1 rivet damaged) - left button intermittent due to fixed cable damage. Needs SDL->PS/2+2 conversion. (Second owner, will get cleaned up a bit more.)
  • IBM TrackPoint II (ThinkPad keyboard in external chassis) PS/2 model
  • Thermaltake Meka G1 - will be thoroughly cleaned up but not much more. Used <5 months. Keycaps are laser-filled ABS and thrashed. Will come with complete original box.

PM with any specific questions, happy to answer to the best of my ability. Most of these are being unloaded or considered for it because A) I need keyboards that last, damnit B) I need keyboards I LIKE, C) I need money to buy keyboards I like working on D) I need money to buy keyboards I have designs on modifying.
NOTE: We know the M13. I know the M13. I will not rape you, but be courteous to others here. If folks are actually serious about it, arrangements will be made. (If it's not true BNIB, that means it's one I used for a month before having to go to a HHKB.)

My opinion (and only my own opinion) is that the o-rings and Filco keycaps don't add much to the price unless you were very lucky and found someone looking for those items.  A new FC200R at EK is still 99.  I'm thinking you'd have to knock a pretty good chunk off.  I'm thinking perhaps $80 for all of it.
