Keyboard Bags
« on: Wed, 14 November 2012, 07:45:25 »
I'm looking for a bag to use to store my keyboard when I'm carrying it around with me.

Please post up any ingenious ways or cases you've found that work great for storing your keyboard!

The keyboards I have are HHKB2Pro, and KBTPure. So that's about 11.6 x 4 x 1.5 in/ 29.5 x 3.8 x 10.2 cm.

I just carry my keyboards in my backpack.  Probably not the best bag for a keyboard, but it's the most convenient for me...

Is there any particular style of bag you are looking for?  Like a laptop-type bag, or a backpack, or what...?

I think he's talking about sleeves.  If not, boost posted some pictures with his keyboards in some pimp padded briefcases.  They must have been pretty expensive, though.

Just out of curiosity, what do these keyboard cases/bags go for? I custom manufacture using fabric...

elitekeyboards actually sells a case specifically for the hhkb.

I briefly looked around for a case for my poker. I found a few items that might work but I didn't want to spend the money and then have them no fit. I'll see if I can check my search history and post the ones I found.

A carrying case would be nice. Something not too bulky and not too expensive.

$50 seems like a lot, but then considering what some people pay for keyboards... not really.

Some of the gun cases could be good for storing multiple keyboards, they seem to have slots in them. But that's more of a protective case as opposed to a simple carrying bag.

Well, that depends where you are buying them :)

For the razer one on the website its around 25 USD.

While in TaoBao, I got it at um, 70 RMB.

Yeah $50 is high probably more than I'd spend on a case that I wouldn't use very often.

Here's some of the other options I considered. I was looking for my poker which I believe has the same dimensions as the op's pure.

This would probably be the nicest if it does fit. It's for a Sony Viao P laptop which is actually smaller than the poker but the case looks like it has enough extra room to fit it.
http://www.cocooninnovations.com/product_info.php?cat_id=49&product_id=164

This is a bigger bag but not huge. It should fit okay.
http://www.radtech.us/Products/ShoulderBags/STMAlley.aspx

And I also found these. which aren't bags but should protect a keyboard if you want to carry it around. They are also the cheapest at $16.

I looking for a slip on sleeve, soft thick fluffy fabric, like fleece. Do you think you could manufacture one for $15 bucks?

Those are all good, but I'm looking for something just to slip on and then put in my bag rather than a dedicated carrying case.

Like a slip-on, a sleeve or something.

I used one of these before that came with my PSU, but I lost it somehow.

Lmao.. Just went to check the price of the Razer bags in Australia.. $49.. seriously, WTF? Had it been like $30, I might have got one to store my boards in.

Just found one here for those in Consus, apply code on there and it goes down to $20 before shipping https://www.shopfalcon.com/shop/gaming-gear-keyboard-quiver

You can probably wrap your keyboard in an old T shirt or something. I made a case for my X220 laptop out of a T shirt and it works great.
