Are RAMRODs CNCed out of a block of acrylic?

Have you thought about doing this for short spacebars as well? There's quite a bit of demand there.

I need one and I don't even have a fullsize spacebar on my keyboard.
I typed this post on my Slanck. I also developed a stronger, cleaner, easier handwiring method.

Yes they are! Although the material is called "Inlace Acrylester."

I'd love to do short spacebars eventually. Next on my list is Topre though.

Those look awesome! You're better at capturing the depth than I am. Did you use a flash or is that just natural light?

Awesome work as always, and I'm guessing since it took a while it will probably not be a 'normal' sale item sadly..  :-[

Did you finish/seal the silver inlay, or leave it raw so it tarnishes quicker where you press it most?

Thanks everyone! The whole thing is sealed with Tung oil, and the inlay is acrylic so it won't tarnish. Not sure if I'll have it in my next sale or not. I was only planning on making 4 of them, but we'll see.

This is definitely a beautiful piece of work. I also like tung oil finishes. Have you considered maybe stabilizing these in something more permanent and in vacuum to help reduce the chance of splitting along the grain from humidity and temperature changes?

Funny enough, it's because I broke my stabilizer when taking off my aluminum spacebar - I made sure to go much easier on this one when putting it on and taking it off since it's ... err ... not aluminum.

African Blackwood aka the 7th hardest wood on the planet. Not the most fun thing to sand but it comes out nice!

162867-2

Super small sale on Wednesday for a few African Blackwood spacebars and 1 Ebony/Inlace inlay piece. I attempted 3 more inlay pieces and they didn't come out right so there is just one for now. I'll be going back to inlace after this and running some 7U bars.
