I'm definitely interested in an extra if there's room. Just got into the hobby recently and this is my favorite design I've seen

I've been dying to find an ergonomic keyboard with the option of "B" on the right side of the keyboard. XD

The Alice design looks so good! Would love a chance to buy one of the extras.

I have some extras. Mixed of good ones and B-stocks (more of A-). These units will be available for sale once all the GB orders are safely delivered.

Thanks.

Definitely interested!

Does anyone know if you can flash QMK onto this board?

I just realized that Bootmapper does not support having your dual action keys be alpha keys. So for example, you cannot use "D" as a function key that exposes the nav cluster on IJKL for your right hand.

Maybe this board's layout is so good I won't need to use alphas as dual function keys?

i believe it uses a 32a chip, so not qmk but tmk might be possible

i'd have to crack mine open to look and i don't have my screwdrivers handy

personally i don't even have the three extra keys bound to anything, just num lock, scroll lock, and a blank

although i did bind the key to the right of spacebar as an fn (using a slightly modified hhkb fn layer), which has proved immensely handy

Interesting. I also found this:

https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/blob/4a3eb3bdd457af85fda4b25d9e6379ee245d468b/keyboards/ps2avrGB/README.md

Looks like its possible to build a version of QMK that can run on the ps2avrGB? Am I reading that wrong? I also don't see anything about a "32a" but I'm new to this so I'm likely missing it.

iirc qmk only works on pcbs with 32u4 chips, whereas i believe the alice uses a 32a, which has v-usb instead of usb

but i could be totally wrong

the hard part would be figuring out the matrix

I’m gonna port qmk at some point, just gotta sit down and do it. Should be fairly similar to singa, just gotta find the right pins. But I might even be able to get that out of bootmapper somehow.

I was able to get some help from a QMK maintainer and know what I need to do complete the port. Once I get my Alice, I’ll start the process and drop a link here once it’s ready to share

Looks like being able create a QMK config for the Alice is going to require either knowing the pin out or manually mapping the matrix.

I've asked Yutski for the PCB files and Mechmerlin has also offered to map out the matrix and create the config, he just needs a PCB sent to him.

Any chance we can get Mechmerlin (in the Seattle area) access to an Alice PCB so we can get QMK on this beauty of a board?

Let me know if there's anything you need from me.

Turns out I do need something from you! I'll either need the schematic /pin-out definition for the PCB. If those aren't available, we mechmerlin (a QMK maintainer) has offered to reverse-engineer the needed information. We just need to send him a bare PCB (to Seattle) and he'll take care of the rest.

Let me know if you can help with either of these :)

Just a small update on the QMK progress:

- Yutski has graciously supplied us with the original Alice schematics
- QMK config is in progress

I'll be testing the config as soon as its ready for QA.

I don't have an ETA but the dream is still alive!
