It's a concept, so let's give them some constructive feed back. I think it's just about perfect if they do a short right shift and Function key.

I didn't like this layout on the Tex Beetle and I still don't like it here. There's just too many 1x caps.

I do like how they got rid of a large right shift though. I'm realizing more and more that I only really want one shift.

"correct" touch typing requires you to alternate hands when using shift. Binge and I were just talking about this on IRC.

I'm ok with not having correct touch typing ^__^

Edit: Just realized there's a left and right click on the front face to go with the nipple. THAT'S interesting. I think I like it. And you're right, just because I only want one shift doesn't mean correct typists would want that.

I'm sorry, but I think that concept is disgusting. I am glad I bought a Poker II. It is simple and minimalist.

This concept is saying, "Please kill me. It hurts to live." Maybe it would be fine if it was a Pure Pro II concept...but don't mess with what the Poker is.

Wow.
Just wow.

The balls on Vortex. Their latest 'designs' are literally rebranding off the shelf Ducky. We've already established this as fact. And they think somehow they're gonna get IBM or Lenovo to just license them the TrackPoint IV? (The other ones out there are pure junk. I have used them.) HA!

Would never buy, looks like the same mess from the Pure Pro. To many 1x1 keys, what do you need 4 keys left of the spacebar for, and 6 keys to the right of it? Split backspace, tiny spacebar, just too many non-standard keys, you will never really find a complete kit for that, except if you make one. Why try so hard to get as many keys as possible on one board? Why do you need that on a 60%? Why not get a TKL instead?

The trackpoint could be nice but apart from that I don't like it at all.

seems weird that have the Poker III and the KBT Race II both be 75% boards. I kind of thought the Poker II was going to be their 75% board and the KBT Race was their 60% board..

The only way forward with keyboards, is placing a trackpoint on the ergodox..

Anyone who continue to default to staggered is wasting their time.

Actually the Race is their 75% keyboard and the Poker their 60%. The size of the case of this will be about the size of a current 60% and they will probably classify it as a 60%, they call the Pure Pro which has the same layout but with ISO enter 60% too.

I sort of like the design, even if keycaps will be a pain. It's a great server room keyboard. I have always maintained they had good designs, it's the execution that s*cks.

Unfortunately, being Vortex, the paint on the case will flake off if anything other than black, if it has PBT keycaps the legends will scrap off with a fingernail in 3 strokes and if the keys are backlit, they will be painted and will last about 6 weeks.

I used to rock the trackpoint on my old Inspiron 8200 like a madman. I still think if done right it can be a supremely useful pointing device, especially for us keyboard folk

I've never seen anyone use one. Ever.

i used the trackpoint a lot on my old work IBM T61.  i liked it because i didnt have to take my hands off homerow to use the mouse.  that being said, i dont think i'd ever use one if i had a mouse handy like on a desktop.

I'm a fan of the 60% with an integrated mouse (the board I'm using now has a trackpad on it), but I'd hike across the country if it meant avoiding the nubbins.  Badcop makes a good point about not leaving the home row, but it just always gets in the way (my laptop has one) and I could never control it like a trackpad or mouse

Not a bad idea, but too many keys left of the space, too many 1x, go with a 1.75 right shift and FN key to the right of that, and maybe shake up the modifiers with some 1.5x keys.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing

Throw at me as many keys as possible, especially on the homerow... as long as they're programmable. I want easily accessible AltGr and Win on both sides.

I would follow this, but don't make the spacebar any larger than the standard US-ANSI right shift (~2.75 units I suspect).  I don't mind things like this, but don't make the spacebar impossible to source an alternative for.

Literally NO thought went into their rendering.

The thumb buttons should NOT be vertical like that.

If you press it hard, not only could you push the board forwards, but you may lift the board as well.

The mouse buttons should be on a SLANT.....

This is how you can tell they have NO passion...

Has there been any updates on a poker III? or did that never see the light of day?

Does anyone have any accessories or key caps or other poker 2 related things lying around that they are not using?  I don't mind taking it off your hands if you no longer want it...
