Only for the Northern Europe users maybe hard to hit MOQ.

Yes, consider me interested.

However, the alphanumeric keys are not enough to convert German to a Nordic layout. German layout has word-legends in German (Strg, Einf, Pos1, Ende, ...) while Nordic layout has those in English (Control, Insert, Home, End, ...)

I keep a list of Swedish people I come across on Geekhack and Deskthority. It is now at 77 names, but of course not all of them are active.
We should also advertise on Deskthority and on Nordic forums, such as Sweclockers.

I think if you go ahead with this it also might be good to include the ISO enter, Atl Gr, |\ etc so the  Adapter Kit can work with any GMK group buy

Sorry to hijack this thread, but do Sweclockers know about the mechsupply group buys?  Are they happy with the euro kits offered there?

The Royal Navy DSA set looks very good.

I need the Numpad kit + the Novelties kit but the MOQ (90 for the Novelties) is to high.

I bought this ANSI/ISO UK Sunshine set from Mechsupply some time ago: http://www.mechsupply.co.uk/product/tai-hao-pbt-sunshine

I bought the set only for use it on my ANSI k-boards.

Edit: I'm not interested in this, I don't use ISO k-boards anymore.

I don't get it. Why would you need the Q, Y and Z keys?

they change positions in some layouts, like QWERTZ vs QWERTY

Sorry, I'm still not following. Why wouldn't you just pull those keys and put them into the right positions? Or do they have different profiles in different positions?

these are cherry profile, so different row keys are shaped differently. they wouldn't really fit in swapped positions as they come already

As a Swede I love this idea. I agree with the weird German modifiers comment though, although an alpha kit like you proposed would clearly be a good start.

The only german keycaps I have though is Skidata (which has English legends for some reason), so personally I would love a Skidata Nordic Kit more than anything, but I know that would probably have even harder to hit MOQ.

Y and Z are swapped in German layout, and they are different profiles, yes.
Q in German layout has also the @ symbol. In Nordic layouts, the @ symbol is on the 2 key.

Khers, let me first say, I really admire the idea and the effort you're putting into this project.

IT differ a little bit more.
Sort of. In a 60% layout (which seems to be the one discussed here), ISO-IT has five unique keys, while others are shared with other layouts. Please check this link.

As for modifiers, ISO-IT is usually legendless aside for Tab which has legend and icon and Caps lock which bears the lock icon. Lastly the Enter key usually reads "Invio" as legend but it could be also be left with legend only like in the UK and the DE layouts.

In a more general view, I really believe this is an interesting idea, but not for a classic beige scheme; simply because localized classic beige sets do exist. I, for one, own a doubleshot and a dyesub OG ISO-IT set with those colors.

I would suggest to run this with a less popular but highly sought scheme, such as perhaps Skidata.
Skidata only exists in two ISO layouts, which are DE and NO, with the latter being extremely rare.

Localizing Skidata, maybe even including and ANSI Enter, would be successful in my opinion because also the inspired running GB has only keys for the standard ANSI layout.
My opensource projects: GH80-3000, TOAD, XMMX. Classified: stuff

Skidata actually exists in SE/FI layout too, but they are super rare... =(

I would also like skidata (or WoB) better, but when it comes to HAD to ISO kits I think biege is in highest demand (although still a low demand relative to ANSI sets).

ANSI to ISO kits are another story altogether, but I would assume 5-10 more keys would need to be added just to get nordic compability, which I think would make the kit too expensive...

I'd be in for a SE/FI-only kit or any other kit that gives me those keys.

Seems like Tombry is planning a DE/UK kit for his Carbon kit here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=79693.800

I've already added that an "Å"-key would be awesome to replace the "Ü"-key for us Swedes. Feel free to join in and voice your opinion on adding more Swedish (or other Nordic) keys.

I think that this will be very successful if you make a gb for alpha iso uk keys, let's say 35 keys, adding a nordic 20 keys addon, and another 20 keys addon for, let's say it fr es..

The price will be about $25 plus $15 for each addon.

You'll get 25000 orders.

There's no way that this can work only trying to pair it to existing sets.

Suppose that you want to base your set on Skidata, which had probably 1000 orders. 1/5 of the users will discover this gb, and another 1/5 will order one language packs, which brings the total orders to the incredible quantity of 40. Let's remember that only a minimum part of the orders come from europe.

You need to make a new alpha set, with a light color that can be easily matched with existing modifiers / fulls sets. And together wit that, you can sell, as an addon, all the language packs, that will have a lower moq, probalbly.
